Manger stable

We needed one new stable for a home nativity and one for my husband's office, because the nativity scene he bought didn't come with a stable Even with two different sized sets of figurines, the stable worked well with both. The construction is of good quality, sturdy, and I expect it to last for years. I would recommend this product.

SMS Cold Steel Small Sword

The SMS Small Sword is well made, and is a good reproduction of a late 18th/ early 19th century model. Slightly heavier than the original, it is still well within tolerances and the balance is excellent being about 2 inches in front of the guard toward the blade end.The pommel is a drawback, highly decorated and very aesthetically pleasing, it snages slightly in sword play on the hand when in thrusting grip, this I am sure will ease with time, and if necessary slight polishing/ grinding however it mars an otherwise superb replica, which I know will give me many years of use, especially once I change the excellent triangular sharp blade for a schlager blade suitable for stage combat.Delivery was very fast and efficient and I would recommend any UK buyer to obtain one of these from the US and pay the shipping, tax and charges as this saves about £100.00

Small sword review

Been collecting swords and other martial weapons since i was 8, and this is easily the gem of my collection. Cold steel makes some truly awesome blades. Product is exquisite, only down for me is even tho the scabbard is well made, mine came with the leather entering the inside of scabbard not glued down. Every time I pull sword out a quarter inch flap of leather does too, no biggie. I've already done some point tests with it and it will easily stab through a 5 gallon bucket of water. Sword is simply amazing, and if you have ever fenced it will fit in your hand like a foil. Price on this is very good considering the manufacturer Cold Steel sells it for $450. Check out their site, [...] has some nice videos of stress tests.

STABBY !

This is a sticker not a slasher. The triangulated blade would go thru someone like an ice pick through hot butter. So be careful not to stab any one you do not intend to kill. This is not for casual fencing unless you get a blunt blade on it. The small sword is the last of the civilian gentleman's personal swords. Because let's face it a rapier is just too un gainly to dance with. This like all Cold Steel offerings is a GOOD quality sword at a fair price. Stabby the Pirate RECOMMENDS it.

Meinl Deluxe Cajon Bag...worth the extra costs!

I spent a bit of time reading the product description of the Deluxe bag and regular. For one...80% or more go with the cheaper version, same company...and I'm sure its a fine bag. To my thinking...as a musician of 55 years of age used to traveling, gigs, others that mean well in helping tear down and so forth...my cajon is special to me, don't plan on buying one to replace it. Want it in great condition wherever I go.This bag is twice the weight as the $49 one...meaning there is some very good protection in the lining, and yes indeed it is. Plush soft cushioning. Conforms and fits the cajon very well. I feel quite safe when I carry this, and for my extra twenty some dollars was well worth the investment; and actually, I took into consideration what my wife might pay for a purse (hee heeee...) and realized this bag wasn't much more than what a woman might pay for a purse. In fact, they may pay well more.My bias admittedly, is...that I imagine the cajon to have more value as contents to be in a bag!!! Oh well...but, I don't believe anyone will be disappointed! Very pleased...

Great Bag for Compact Loudspeaker!

I purchased the Meinl cajon bag to haul expensive composite loudspeakers I use as a working musician. When I initially placed my order I was a little apprehensive; I've been performing for more than forty years, and there have been too many time in the past when I've been disappointed by products that didn't live up to the expectations created by flattering photographs and hyperbolic sales pitches.When I opened the package I was immediately impressed by the craftsmanship, the quality of the materials, the attention to detail, and the protection provided by its tough exterior fabric, the rubberized wear surface on the bottom, and its soft, well-cushioned interior. I plan to order another in a few weeks. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with the quality of the Meinl cajon bag; it's a keeper!If I were going to make any recommendations, they would be to explicitly state the size of the largest cajon the bag can carry; clearly differentiate between the interior and exterior dimensions in the product description; provide more photographs; and provide a high-quality luggage tag with each bag.Thanks to Meinl for a great product, and to Amazon for another great purchase!

Good protection

This is constructed of a thick outer cloth with 2 heavy duty hand straps and a clip-on shoulder strap. The inside is a faux wool liner and should be very easy on wood finishes. The hand straps can be joined together with a padded Velcro handle or left by themselves, when they can be used like 2 backpack straps. The pocket is fairly small. I wish it was bigger to carry a few accessories. All in all, this bag is a good buy.

Has clouds, but I still love it

I previously had a Westinghouse 42" 1080p LCD that went bad after just 6 months! I used my service plan and got a full refund since they didn't even want to touch the thing. The only problem i've found that that the prices in 6 months actually increased and suddenly I found that 42" 1080p LCDs were less common.I first went with the Samsung LN-S4695D. I had some major issues with that so returned it for this. I originally skipped this Sony for the Samsung because it was cheaper.When I purchased this I knew of the cloud issue and had them deliver it and crossed my fingers. Turned it on and after awhile I noticed clouds. The problem in all honesty does not bother me AT ALL EVER. I think in the 4-5 months i've owned this i've noticed it once or twice. Please note that I almost NEVER watch TV in the dark. If you do, maybe it's more of a problem. Sony's claim that it's "normal" is such a joke. How could you ship out thousands of these LCDs with this issue and knowing it's there? I've knocked off a star due to this. For the price you pay on this thing (it was more expensive when I bought it months ago) you'd expect it to be perfect. My first Sony was. It's not true that there is no PERFECT TV out there. There is.Anyway, I immediately calibrated this using AVIA and DVE and the picture quality is even better than any previous TV i've owned by far. This thing has so many features in the menu system that you could spend hours just configuring it to get it right. I disliked the menu system on the Samsung and this one is so much better. It's really easy to navigate and not slow.This also has so many different types of connections. Three HDMI ports. Most people think two is enough, but I don't agree. I currently use all three. Switching inputs on previous Sony televisions was a pain. Now it's a little bit easier. To press a button to display 'external inputs' and switch to the one you want. You can even label the inputs. I have mine set to PC, Wii, PS3, Cable and DVD PLAYER.Games show no ghosting at all that i've noticed. A couple times i've noticed very slight motion smearing on really low quality cable TV. It's extremely rare and i'm going to blame my cable provider because it never happens on DVDs or anything else.I don't use the TV speakers but I do when I connect my HD antenna up. That's about once every 2 weeks for NBA games in HD. Some would complain it sounds bad but they've probably never heard sound from other LCDs. My mother's plasma display has such bad sound that it sounds like it's coming from a $2 speaker. Honest. It's impossible to listen to it it's so bad. The sound from the speakers isn't good, but acceptable. My guess is that a large percentage of the people that buy a TV this expensive have a home theater system. I currently use a Yamaha Sound Projector since i'm in an apartment.The design is much better than my Samsung I previously tried out. The only problem is that it will not tilt/rotate like the Samsung did. Not a big deal for me but it would have been nice. The design on the back is not good. It's hard to access all the HDMI and cable inputs. I'd imagine it's like this due to some people wanting to mount this on a wall? It's nothing that bad.HD-DVDs and Blu-Ray movies are pretty amazing on this thing. Same goes for Playstation 3 games. DVD movies even look good but it depends on the DVD quality. Old movies don't really look good. I'm mainly talking about DVDs that came out when the players cost a fortune. I've compared the picture quality between an upconverted movie and one that's not and I definitely notice a huge difference.I will admit though that my Oppo DVD player hates this LCD. It will display dark scenes but they will contain greenish tint/macroblocks etc. I thought it was the LCD but i've tried 5 others and this does not occur. I've tried many ways to fix this with not much luck. I currently use the Denon 575 and so far so good.Standard "Digital" cable still looks terrible in most cases. I don't have HD cable yet and my cable provider's picture quality is terrible. That's all. It's not the TV's fault. Too bad I can't get Satellite TV out here.I also was pretty impressed with the results I got when I connected my PC to this. Seeing your desktop at 1080i is pretty nice. I don't really use this feature though much. I've played a game that supports widescreen at that high of resolution (Final Fantasy XI) and it looks pretty good!Other than the few negatives above, I can't think of many. I've waited months to post a review. I really wanted to give it some time. So far i've not experienced many problems at all.The cloud issue might make it a risk buying this. Maybe they've fixed the problem already. Even with the cloud issue it's still a good TV. BTW my clouds are nearly impossible to see until I have a completely black screen and my lights are down. I have them on the top left and bottom left. When the actual movie plays they are GONE. Completely unless a scene is completely black, not just a little dark.If I run into anything bad i'll update this review. So far, so good!

Wonderful!

We got this TV about a month or so ago and love it. It really shines displaying HD. Nature shows on HD Discovery are unbelievable with out-of-the-box color calibration seeming very good to my eye. I can still picture the vivid snake scales and close ups of Mantises (Mantisi?) days after watching them on this set.The only downside is that I notice some macro-blocking if I sit within about 6 feet. Not really a problem though since we usually sit further back. Also, I think this may be an issue with the content encoding rather than the TV itself.I've read in forums that some people are disappointed in the non-HD performance of the TV. However, while it really does shine in HD, I find it totally acceptable when viewing the occasional non-HD content.Definitely worth checking out if you are in the market for a high end TV and plan on watching lots of HD. I also can't wait to try this set with an XBOX 360 and/or PS3 :-)

perfect TV set... unless viewed in the dark

Honestly, this about the best 1080p TV you can buy right now. Everything about it screams quality -- the incredibly vivid image, the absurd amount of inputs, and the striking physical design.However, if you watch dark films (say, the Godfather, or Underworld: Evolution) in the dark (as in a movie theater), you will quickly be exposed to the set's weakness: the so-called cloudiness defect. On a totally dark image, you will see lighter-than-black patches, which will mean an uneven blackness level, and thus a distracting "cloud" effect when the camera moves through a dark scene. Don't be surprised if you end up feeling very frustrated at this.I give the set 3/5 stars -- but it would have been 5/5 easily if not for the clouding problem.

Kent Super Scooter vs. Schwinn

I ordered one Kent Super Scooter with the Schwinn Scooter as a pair. The Kent was a few buck cheaper than the Schwinn and much Nicer. Wheels are bigger, back and front brakes and handel bar adjustmet for small and somewhat larger kids. The Schwinn is too small for my 8 year old and cannot be adjusted. The Kent is still a little too short for my 11 year old, but a MUCH Better Buy than the more expensive smaller Schwinn. Now I'm just looking for a scooter built like the Kent with taller handel bars for bigger kids. Wish I could ship the Schwinn Back and get a second Kent for my 5 year old.

Stong and solid

Got this scooter for a ten year old who has developed a resistance to learning to ride a bicycle. We have tried for years to teach him to no avail. He can do pretty much anything else; plays soccer, baseball and basketball well. He simply has developed a fear of the bicycle and refuses to try. We hoped that the scooter would help and it has! He took right off on it after a few tries and can now balance himself for several hundred feet until he runs out of downhill road! He loves the scooter, and Dad(me)does too! It was relatively easy to assemble, although I did need an extra pair of hands to get the brakes adjusted properly. Assembly time was under 10 minutes. The scooter has a strong frame like a bicycle and all the hardware to match. I would rate the quality equivalent to a Huffy or Murray bicycle that you would get for a kid this age. I expect that it will last until long after the first son has outgrown it and the second son will use it also.UPDATE March, 2008: I bought a second one last summer for my other boy. He loves it, too. Both scooters have held up very well. Money well spent!

Solid Scooter

I ordered this item for my son for Christmas and found it fairly easy to put together (always a plus!). The brakes gave me some difficulty until I figured them out but other than that it was easier than other toys I've had to assemble. My son hasn't used it much yet (we live in northern PA and it's a little cold out to be riding a scooter around) but he's tried it out and is very comfortable with the way it handles. It appears to be a solidly built scooter and doesn't look as if it will break easily (another plus when you're talking about a scooter bought for a 12 year old boy!). All in all, I would recommend this scooter to anyone looking for something to ride off-road (the bike tires are the main reason I went with this model instead of one of the Razor scooters -- Razors may be nice but they don't work well on gravel and dirt roads).

The reviews need to say - FILM camera. I scanned the entire thing for evidence of digital details like Mega Pixels or screen details and saw nothing. I know what I'm looking for - but I think that you should make it easier for the uninitiated. . . in order to avoid disappointment hen they buy it - expecting a digital and get a film camera . . . keep it simple. . .

Excellent choice in a 35 MM camera with zoom. It is so intuitive and the pictures are as sharp and refined as higher end models. It's a Minolta, so you know it is a good quality. Zoom is excellent. Grip is just where you want it. Never gives you any red eye. Minolta Freedom Zoom 140 EX Date

Great price for a great starter set

I recently purchased this package, and I have to say that I think this is a great deal (at $119). The two Norton waterstones included in the package provide 4 sizes of grit (220/1000 and 4000/8000) that can handle any sharpening task. At 3 inches wide, these stones are great for wide plane blades (my Stanley No. 7 blade is too wide to sharpen easily on anything much narrower than this). The protective cases for the stones can also be used to hold the stones during sharpening. The flattening stone makes it easy to keep the waterstones flat (these stones wear faster than others, so this is important). And, if you are just starting out with waterstone sharpening, you will find the included tray to be very helpful in reducing the attendant mess. The DVD is fine, and may be helpful for beginners, although personally I prefer to use a honing guide rather than do it freehand. If you are starting out with waterstones, or want to try the Norton stones at a reasonable price, this is the package for you.

Really nice once you "make 'em yours"

I will really love these stones once I "make them mine" as in, put in the rest of the labor of flattening them. I concur with the other reviewers that the stones do not come perfectly flat, not by a long shot. They have a sort of "belly" to them that needs to be ground off... so familiarize yourself with the flattening stone first and foremost. The instructions are helpful, they tell you to use pencil marks on the stone to show you where it is still low and unground. My 220/1000 stone only took about 15 minutes of grinding to flatten both sides and all pencil marks were gone. The 4000 side of the 4000/8000 stone took about 40 minutes before I gave up and left a small area unground. I figure it will wear down in time. Now, the 8000 grit side.. oh MAN is that taking some time! The finer the grit, the longer it takes to flatten the stone.I am so glad I got this kit (that comes with the carbide flattening stone) instead of just the stones. Be prepared to put in the labor, and in about 2 hours they will be perfect.I also concur that the packaging is very good. No chips, dings or anything. The water tray with rubber mat is also nice. I have not had any problems with the stones coming unglued, but will watch for that and try not to soak more than 20 minutes.

A solid performer

I have had this saw for about two years now with it being used pretty regularly. I haven't had one problem with it yet. It is smooth running with a lot of power to cut through anything that I've thrown at it. I've even dropped it a couple of times on concrete at about 6ft. and nothing has happened to it so far. The rotating handle is a huge help when cutting in tight areas and the case holds about 5 blades.

The Best?

I have owned this sawzall for quite some time and it is quite good. Cuts very fast due to the long stroke and the rotary blade action.Down falls are 1. the weight, very heavy unit, and 2.the twist lock to attach the blades to the shaft won't accept the thicker blades that are available.I have snapped the shaft off on this unit and had to have it rebuilt. Even so, I would still rate this tool right up at the top. Use a sawzall with a shortercutting stroke alongside this one and you will be throwing it out the window. One last complaint, the case is much to small. As a contractor want to have at least 20assorted blades with me at all times, and lucky to get 5 blades in the caseBUY IT !

the product did not come with a case for the tool as pictured. it is a great tool, but there was no "kit" about it. and i had to readjust the guide bar so it wouldnt fly off the tool when in use. so as a review, the tool itself is very good...the way it was sent was poor at best. please get it together in the shipping dept. i like amazon, but lately, you are 70%. thanx, H

A great buy!

This was purchased for my grandson. He loves dinosaurs and has a few inexpensive ones from Walmart. This was more expensive, and it has proven well worth the price. He plays with this and 2 others that we purchsed non-stop. This is an extrmely well made toy, very sturdy and heavier than any other dinsosaur he had before. It looks very realistic and he has had a blast with it.

Great Toy from Schleich

My son has lots of Schleich toys and they are all great quality, virtually indestructible, and wonderfully detailed and lifelike. The Mammouth is bigger and heavier than the typical Schleich animal. I wouldn't recommend it for a very small child just because it is so heavy, but for an older kid who is interested in prehistoric wildlife it's a great buy. Most Mammouth toys are usually cartoon type tie-ins for the Ice Age movie series, so my little boy was excited to find a "real" looking Mammouth.

Excellent Toy. Substantial in size, my grandson loves this Mammouth. The tusks might be a little pointy but overall an excellent Mammouth. Very good detail also.

Punch heads are not very durable

I've had this unit for about 6 weeks and it worked well until a head broke today. I called the company thinking that 6 weeks was a little premature and they told me that the unit has a lifetime warranty on everything except the head and that the heads that cost $53.59 for a set of 3 should be replaced approximately every 100 punches. Had I known that I would not have purchased this unit. That is a very considerable addition to the cost of printing that was not disclosed anywhere pre-purchase. Furthermore, $53.59 is crazy, I was expecting them to say $6 or $7 for a set of 3. Yes when it's not broken it works fine, but they need to be more honest about the cost of operating this unit. Had it said anything about that in the description I'd give the unit a 5 but since they ignore it and pretend it isn't an issue they get a 2 and I really should give it a 1.

Well built and powerful

This punch is incredible. It is well made and well designed. It has replaceable punches, but the spacing is not adjustable.Because of its design, it can punch however much paper will fit under the guide. For lower bond paper, that may well be 150 sheets. For 24lb paper, you may get less. I haven't tried over 100 sheets of 24lb paper.I'm very happy with this purchase. It is not in the same class as an everyday black hand held punch. With that in mind, it is well worth the additional cost.

Excellent product

Not much to say except that this item does the job nicely. We use it on just a couple of reams every month, but the clean and easy result makes the device well worth having. We replaced an older similar punch from another maker, because the older punch had become terminally misaligned, causing it to ruin replacement cutting heads at an alarming rate.
