Product Description
This Roman helmet is a replica of those helmets worn by Roman soldiers as they gallantly marched into battle when the Roman Empire was at its greatest, around the first century.
The Roman helmet is handmade from 18 gauge steel. it has brass accents and a red horse hair plume. Slight differences in style and size are possible. This medieval helmet is full sized and wearable for costume and will look great on display.
Helmet stand is not included.

Good Quality

Purchased two helmets to complete Roman Centurion costumes for church drama. Very happy with quality, and really completed the look..... don't know about historical significance, but I believe this is the picture that comes to mind for the average person when you think of a centurion's helmet. Excellent quality, will be of service in my ministry for many years. We actually don't use the 'padding' that comes with it, as we found it's not enough. We simply hot glue in our own padding out of 1" foam, so that the helmet fits well on whatever actor is wearing it. Be sure to pad the top well, as the hardware that attaches the plume HURTS if you're not well-protected from it. That was an unpleasant surprise!!!! Other than that, highly recommend!! Very pleased with this purchase, and the price is excellent for the quality received. Plan to purchase more for the future as funds allow.....

For the price it is exceptional

It looks great. It will need you to add some foam on the inside if you want to wear it, so it sits properly and because without it it will hurt to wear.Right now it looks great up on the top shelf of my bookshelf, along with a few other helmets. I'll be collecting a few other pieces to complete the ensemble (chestplate, tunic, etc... I already have a gladius) and will wait for the right opportunity to wear it in public or at a fancy dress party.

Exceed expectation

This is a real helmet. Solid steel. Heavy. I read the other reviewer's review and put 1 inch foam inside. Caustion: the inside of the helmet was painted with some cheap silver-colored paint that came off easily. Completely unnecessary. Should just leave it exposed or use some paint with better adhesive quality. Any way, very happy with it.
