No longer skeptical

I was somewhat skeptical whether the inground fence would work for my dog. She is a 5-year old Shichon that loves to chase squirrels, rabbits and cats. We decided to give it a try and installed the system about a month ago. During the initial training I had the collar set to "2" on the 1 to 5 scale and it didn't do much. Then I set it to "3" and allowed her to venture past the white flags. She gave a small yelp and immediately came back in the yard and headed for the house. It took a few days for her to be comfortable in the yard again. But now, a month later, she loves going out and we don't have to worry about her running off. When she sees rabbits or squirrels she keeps a very close eye on them and may chase a little, but once she gets close to the boundary she stops.I've heard many comments about the RFA-188 battery in the collar not lasting very long so I ordered a couple spares, but I'm still on the original battery and it seems to be holding up great. We take the collar off whenever she's in the house. When she's in the yard the collar takes very little energy since she usually doesn't get close enough to the boundary for the tone to sound. One comment I do have regarding the collar is that it is not very compliant on either side of the control module so it doesn't fit all that well on my dog's small neck (approximately 12" circumference). The module doesn't hang at the bottom of her neck the way you think it would. It seems to work its way up around to the side of her neck. The good news is, it seems to work just as well no matter where it ends up.Installation was straight forward, although you should allow a full weekend to get it done. The control box allows the boundary zone to be easily adjusted. I have just a little over 500 feet of wire and a setting of a little over 6 gives a boundary width of about three feet.It is so nice to see our dog running loose in the yard instead of constantly getting her rope all tangled. She really enjoys her freedom. I highly recommend this product.Update: We've had the fence for 14 months now and are still on the original battery! Can't say enough good things about the quality of the system and how well it works for our pet.

Fantastic!

We have 2 beagles whose noses would lead them anywhere. They dag under the chain link fence before, run at the slightest sound to see what it is, so I was leery about this product where there was no "visible" fence to keep them confined safely. However, it works like magic! Once trained (which did not take long at all - they figured out that they cannot go past the flags really fast after getting corrected a couple of times), they stay perfectly confined in the little dog area. We were very comfortable taking off the chain link fence and knowing that the dogs would stay put. Even when we are walking around past the perimeter and they want to be with us, they stay behind the flags. When they run after noises, they stay behind the flags.The only drawback was that the battery for one of the collars was already dead when we got it. Luckily, we received two extra batteries so that was not so much of a problem.One nice feature is that the collar correction level is adjustable. The beagles didn't even notice the 2 setting but when we put it up to 3, it worked great.Installation was a breeze. If you read and understand the directions, you will have no problems at all. Twisting the wire is tricky so it may not hurt to purchase a roll of already twisted wire.Training the dogs ~ well that depends on the dog. From the reviews I read, some dogs figure it out real quick (and minimal training is required). Our dogs were like that. Some dogs may take a little longer to adjust. In any case, it isn't a problem with the system (the system is great) and some extra attention may need to be given to more stubborn dogs.In sum, this system works and is well worth the investment!

Very Good Value for the effort of instalation

We purchased this product after receiving quotes for invisibile fences costing $1,300. The instalation is easy and anyone can do it. All you need is typical side walk edger to cut a slit in the ground to stick the wire in. We installed the main unit in the garage and drilled a hole thru the wall for the wires. I purcased conduit separately to protect the wire until it reached the ground. You should also consider purchasing asphault filler to cover the wire along the gap between the driveway and sidewalk. Overall the installtion took me 5 hours by myself with the majority of the time dedicated to putting the wire in the ground. This was easy but time consuming. Training our dog was also very easy and we could let him loose in the yard after only three training sesions. After we installed our fence, many of our neighbors also were convinced that they could do it as well. By doing this yourself, you can realize savings of $200/hr compared to paying someone else to do it for you. We are very satisfied and would recommed this product to everyone with a small dog. One of our neighbors went for the professional installation and had it installed three weeks before we did. Our dog was trained well before their's as their company had to come out each time to adjust the settings on the collar as they we not able to control it themselves. If you have any ablity with tools, you can do this yourself.

Best Wrench Set I've Ever Owned

These wrenches are great! The extra length lets you apply torque with less effort. The ratchet is smooth & the tools have performed flawlessly. I bought these to keep in my Jeep Wrangler for repairs in the field but I find myself unpacking them whenever I need a wrench around the house. These are quality tools. Best hand tool investment I've ever made.

Beautiful watch, but.

I own 19 watches. Of those, the vast majority are Fossil. This is my personal favorite, looks-wise. But BE PREPARED to wear the Titanic on your wrist. This watch is HEAVY. I'm a stocky male, and I still complain about how heavy it is. If you dropped this on someone's head it'd kill them. Other than that, this is a beautiful, accurate watch.

Love these wrenches

Very Popular

I purchased this product with the intent of using it in the Portland Rose Festival Grand Floral Parade. The theme was Carnival of Roses. My son is an award winning Junior Pooper Scooper (that's right) in the parade. We went with Carnival de' Pooh Pooh theme and stuck with an old tyme carnival theme. I walked all 5 miles of the parade with the kids (a 13yr old wore this costume). This was so popular. People all along the 5 mile route wanted their fortune told. It was so much fun. Approximately 750,000 people line the parade route and people loved it. It did not fit a 6'2 seventeen year old male very well. But it fit the 13 year old perfectly.

Good assortment of sizes, great product

This is a great assortment of sizes. These are the wrenches I use the most frequently. I only had one ratcheting wrench for years, and it was a Gear Wrench. I kept putting off buying a set because I don't need 15mm or 18mm, or whatever other random sizes the manufacturer decided to throw in. I can't tell you how handy it is to have a ratcheting wrench, but the first time you're squeezing that wrench in there you'll appreciate how much easier it is to use than a swivel socket or whatever else you've rigged up in the past.

A nice watch. Some clarification is definitely needed here.

This is a very nicely designed timepiece for the money. It cost substantially less than other chronographs of comparable quality, and is quite attractive. It is all stainless and has a Japanese movement. I have the gray faced version which may be a bit easier to read because of the lack of contrast, but no chronograph, unless it is oversized, and has a very expensive movement, is really intended for anything but aesthetics. The quality of movement at this price range should dictate its reliability and durability. No one uses these things to time track meets. The real issue is the pedigree of the movement. No Chronograph, Citizen or any other brand, at $100, sweeps at a tenth of a second. How do I know? Well the Japanese movement in this watch is in fact identical to the movement in all but the most expensive Citizen watches. Actually, the movement is made by Citizen. These identical movements are branded by Citizen under the name "Miyota" and are sold to many quality watchmakers like Skagen and Fossil. A close analogy is the 2004 Saturn VUE - which had a Honda's 3.5-liter V6. Anyone who tried to tell you how much "better" the engine in their Honda CR-V was as compared to the one in the Vue was certainly confused. With the Fossil you are getting the same exact watch as the Citizen Chrono in the end. There is one major difference though: the Fossil is a much more stylish watch with a much more solid stainless bezel and band and costs a lot less. I personally think that the inexpensive Citizen Chronos look like cheesy old man watches. If you are willing to shell out $300 to $1000 for a really nice Citizen Eco Drive, then you can get a very attractive, very high quality Chrono with a stellar movement. For anyone on a budget; stick with the Fossil.

Very difficult to read at a glance

This watch has a very cheap faceplate, and a horrible raised, and "watery" crystal, making the watch very difficult to read in almost any condition. The glare from the blue faceplate is unacceptable. The watch is very solidly built, thick, and heavy (has a difficult time fitting under shirt cuffs). Excellent bracelet, and very durable to boot.

The chronograph doesn't measure 1/10 nor 1/20 of a second - only seconds, so seconds hand can be confusing to read. A chrono measuring no less than seconds is cheap and rarely advertised (so beware).

I really don't recommend this watch - Citizen makes a much nicer $100 chrono.

Great Set!

One of the best tap & die sets out there for the money. The ratchet handle makes it much easier to get straight alignment as opposed to the old fashioned handles. Just wish Gear Wrench would manufacture this set in the US instead of offshore.

What a difference a good Tap & Die set makes

I had owned a very inexpensive tap & die set for many years. The taps and dies weren't the worst, but trying to use them with supplied handles was a big pain. I finally decided to buy the Gear Wrench set. What a difference!! My initial impression when I opened the case was what a nice layout. Absolutely ingenious setup for tapping and cutting threads. The ratcheting handle is perfect. For tapping you just insert the tap head into the handle and away you go. Same with the dies. I couldn't be more pleased with any tool I have purchased.

Even better than expected!

I've been needing a T&D set for a long time, and finally got tired borrowing a friend's really good Craftsman set. I agonized for a while about which set to buy - of all the tools to cheap out on, a tap & die set is really not one of them. You do *not* want your tap breaking or damaging threads, it's not like you get to do this sort of work over again if you blow it. The Craftsman set was pretty expensive for what it offered, so I started looking else. Since I have always had great experiences with Gear Wrench tools, and based on reviews on Amazon and a couple automotive forums I checked out decided to pull the trigger. This kit does not disappoint - it has everything you might need, and all of it is high quality. I'm extremely satisfied with this purchase, and am looking forward to getting a lot of use out of it!
