Beat-Maker at Heart

This product is a great starting point for anyone who is a true beat junkie, listens to the hot beat compilations on the radio and says to themselves "I know I can create something like that...even better". Go after this product and become your own "producer of nasty beats". This product is easy enough to begin at the lowest level of beat machine experience and being able to look abd sound like a serious track master. I also love the portability of the unit - easy to carry anywhere to ensure you get that spontanous beat in your head gets down and saved on a track. I highly suggest purchasing this product. Also great for manual licks when percusion is needed at Church service/functions (Praise Him). The only negatives I have is the fact that they do not include an A/C adaptor (sold separately), however the 4 AA batteries last a long time.

The Bomb

This drum machine is a blessing for anyone interested with making Hip Hop R&b music. 1st off let me say that the manual is easy to understand, unlike the Mpc's etc.. This machine can make a lot of cool beats. The factory preset songs by the beat Kangs sound cheesy to me and very west coast hip hop, but that being said the drum kits are very good and the synth sounds like guitar etc sound like they are real samples of guitar etc.. Use is easy and you can select parts from different kits and make custom drum kits that are off the hook. Even when I missed the beat a couple of times with the small pads the microchip inside fixed it when I played the beat back. You can connect a cheap set of electric drums like the low end yamaha drums with a midi out connection to the midi in on this and access all of the great sounds on a good size drum set. It also has a stereo line in for use with a mic with a preamp or a guitar or bass with a preamp or even a keyboard from the headphones out jack to the stereo in. My advice go through all the steps in the manual which is pretty short anyway and you will have all that you need. Bruce Lee said it best when he said something like it is not the fancy spin kick that will win the fight but the short straight punch or kick. Meaning the little things are most important. Now let's start beautifying this world with some crazy beats. Good luck

A do-it-all-box that really kicks!

I bought this Street Boxx Drum Machine to add to my Keyboard at church. I use it when we don't have a drummer. In choir rehearsal, within 5 minutes, I had it hooked up, (with standard guitar or keyboard plug-ins); I quickly found the beats, adjusted the tempo, & was ready with the songs we needed to practice for Sunday's service. Searching thru the beats can be done quickly & quietly. Included is a list of over 500 pre-recorded beats. Some have bass, clapping, & other synthesizer sounds added to them, that you can erase, modify, or rename to suit your own taste. The sound from this machine is very authentic, crystal clear, & with its' own adjustable volume knob, it's as loud or as soft as you want it to be. You can also mute the bass, if you don't need it. I was worried that some of my keyboard's sound might be diminished by routing it thru this box, but my keyboard was as loud & as clear as it always is. I'm still in the learning stages of things like using the 13 separate pads to program my own drum beats into the Street Boxx, which I can record & save as patterns, for playback as accompaniments to songs I play on my keyboard during service. The pads include drums, cymbals, claps, & other sounds. You can modify them, or use them to do a live jam session, by simply tapping the pads with your fingers! For now, the machine does the job I ordered it for, which is to have drums accompany me, as I play my Hammond Organ Keyboard. Along side my long list of songs, I have the key I play each song in, & I am now adding the beat number & the corresponding tempo number I use in my Street Boxx for each song, so that I don't have to guess, but can quickly look it up & always have the same beat & the same exact tempo that works best for each song, & do it very quickly. For the money, this box does a lot! It has its' own power on & off switch. (Another plus, for later)-I can add a foot switch to this machine, allowing me to make changes on the Street Boxx hands-free! The only drawback is that it uses 4 AA batteries, (included), which according to the book, will run the box about 8 hours. I've used up 4 hours this weekend. With my usage, an adapter will pay for itself in about 6 weeks. So I bought a 9-volt DC adapter today, (which is what the book said it would take, but I haven't tried it yet). Hopefully, this will end the battery usage. Whether you want it to bang out a beat with some extra sounds for fun, for a beat to dance to, or to be your drummer, bass, & other sounds along side another instrument, this box will do the job! Spend the extra $12 to $20 bucks & buy the 9-volt DC adapter & forget the batteries because you will find this machine easy to use & you will play with it for hours! I love, love, love this Street Boxx Drum & Groove Machine!
