5The best things in life are simple--and good to boot
By Argyris
There are products that are designed to wow us with their seemingly infinite scope of features and permutations; at the opposite extreme there are products that sacrifice functionality in order to be aesthetically pleasing. The Behringer Xenyx 802 falls into neither of these categories. It's not fancy, but it has a specific use and it just does it well. There are several different routing options, including separate outputs for headphone monitoring, control room output, and line out. In addition, this little mixer provides phantom power to up to two microphones. The sound quality is very transparent, and you have to really jack up the gain to hear any background noise. Overall, this device creates the clean, even frequency response of solid state electronics but without the cold, brittle digitalian cast that plagues direct digital recording. I use this for recording on my computer via my Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer Sound Card ( 70SB073A00000 ); I have a somewhat rare cable which converts stereo 1/4" to stereo RCA, from which point I use a Y-cable to convert to a miniplug (yes, I can hear you audiophiles groaning). Using this setup, with some simple level adjustment on the 802, I can record both my keyboard and my voice (via the AKG Perception 200 Condenser Microphone) with high fidelity. I use this setup for producing demo recordings, but other possible uses include podcasting and pulling mixer duty for a live performance in a small venue. The on board controls are nothing special, really. The EQ would probably be useful in a pinch, but I generally gravitate toward software-based EQ and effects in lieu of hardware equivalents, if only because I have much more control when using software. I imagine dedicated hardware would probably sound much better, though. Honestly, the 802 doesn't require a degree in rocket surgery to use; an instinctive knowledge of I/O and a basic understanding of audio equipment are the (loose) prerequisites. And, if you have trouble, the manual is very informative. What's more, it takes high honors as the absolute best English translation of a manual that I have ever come across. As far as build quality, when testing out the controls I found that the knobs felt very solid without being sticky. Unfortunately, my unit does not sit flush on the table; I am not sure if this happens often with this model or brand. Other than this, the 802 seems very well made and I get the impression that it could get kicked around my home studio a lot and still keep on working. Reviews at various online music equipment retailers confirm the above. My sole complaint about the 802 is that it has a somewhat unconventional metering display: While most audio meters will use a row of yellow LEDs to indicate when a signal is coming close to 0.0 dB (without clipping), on the 802 the yellow LEDs light up when a signal has actually exceeded 0.0 dB and is thus already mildly distorted. This is fine on a tube amp, I suppose, but for a solid state device one would probably not want any distortion, and the color coding of the meter is a little strange given that standpoint. I am more concerned when glancing over at the mixer if I am coming close to 0 dB, and a row of yellow LEDs in the -6 dB through 0 dB range would have been a lot more useful to me.Still, the above is a very minor issue, and overall this is a wonderful little piece of equipment. Does it come packed with ten million different capabilities and features? No, of course not. But it doesn't follow the annoying modern trend of hiding everything behind a blank exterior with three or so tiny buttons shoved off to the side and out of sight, either (are you reading this Apple and all those like you?). For basic mixing work, small-scale demo recording, podcasting, and intimate live performances, the Behringer Xenyx 802 would be a very useful addition to anyone's equipment arsenal. There's something comforting about analog knobs, something musical in exactly the way that clicking through a series of computer generated dialogs or editing patch parameters with a menu substructure and a pair of up and down buttons just isn't. The tactile sensation inspires a sort of creative mindset, if you will. Call me crazy if you like, but even if analog didn't sound better than digital (please don't get into that debate with me; if you disagree than so be it) I would probably still surround myself with analog equipment. My recommendation is if you need something unglamorous but very capable of accomplishing its intended use, then the Behringer Xenyx 802 is definitely something you should consider. It's relatively cheap, it's high quality, and it's an overall good beginning investment.

4Good for starting, small acts,
By LXPlot
The Behringer Xenyx 802 is a very nice control board for the price. It came promptly, and included a very nice manual in several languages. I had enough background knowledge to use this product out of the box, but for somebody who didn't, the manual could very easily explain it to them quickly and have them mixing in no time. The only real thing I noticed quickly is that the light signifying that it is on is obnoxiously bright, to the point where it is distracting. This was an easy fix, I taped a little piece of lighting gel over it and got it to a point where I liked it. I played with the mixing functions a little bit using several techniques and my results are recorded below:The first test of this unit was simply trying it out with a few different medium quality speakers and seeing how it sounded. I attached an Mp3 player for input and hooked up several bases for output. Most of the controls worked flawlessly, the board didn't seem to be broken in any way. Distortion was pretty high, I messed with the gain a bit, and played with the various volumes and EQs until I got it how I liked. This would have been a bigger problem if I had been somebody whom had never operated a mixer before, it would've taken a lot longer to fix this using only the manual. The EQs worked nicely, the middle functioned particularly well, bass caused some distortion but nothing annoying; however, treble wasn't excellent, it made the high frequency audio sound a tad metallic and cut off some at the top.My second test was also with an Mp3 player as input, but this time I used several different types of headphones as output. Distortion was higher this time, and with some songs I could not completely eliminate it. That said, the control room function worked nicely with a little less distortion, and I'm not quite sure why I would want headphones on one of the mains. The EQs did little to eliminate this distortion, as did the gain, but I could limit it using the various volumes. My third test involved using the mixer as if it were mixing for an actual band. I had a Shure Sm58 wired on input 1, a Crown "Floor Mic" on input 2, a bass guitar and (cheap) electric guitar on input 3/4 , and a keyboard on input 5/6. The whole 3/4 and 5/6 inputs bugged me, as it really shouldn't have been considered 6 input. I ended up plugging the guitars and keyboards into the double amps because the doubles didn't have XLR which the microphones needed. That said, phantom power worked like a charm and the floor mic worked nicely. Distortion was considerably lower with my voice as the input, and I was unable to hit any notes high enough to sound bad (well...bad in comparison to my normal voice.) The Bass/guitar match up worked nicely, as the bass EQ barely affected the guitar and the treble EQ affected the bass. This allowed me some level of individuality, but not as much as I would have liked. Distortion was higher in both of the actual instruments in comparison to the microphones, but not in comparison to the mp3 players. This pleased me a little bit, but the lack of individual controls makes me wonder whether setting up this board to run a band would be a good idea.My final test involved plugging it in to a full audio system in a real venue, and seeing how it sounded there. I tried out several different inputs and outputs, including but not limited to floor mics, sm58s (wired and otherwise), sm57s, a computer, and an mp3 player. The problems were approximately the same; however, with high power amplifiers I didn't need to use the amplification included in the board at all. Doing this, distortion was cut out almost completely. So should you buy this board? That depends. Based on the facts that the problems I had with distortion varied based on what else was connected, I would theorize that it probably wasn't the consoles fault. Personally, if I could do it all over again, I would try and find something that has a few more EQs and a higher level of individual control. I also would enjoy a slider rather than a knob for volume, but that's just nit picking. One interesting thing to take notice of is the fact that while the boards in this line directly above this one have more inputs, they only have EQs on the first 2, so this board is arguably better than the ones above it. This control board is definitely worth the price for educational purposes, and it could possibly be good for small bands that want their own boards, starting Deejays, low budget community theaters, etc. This thing would be particularly good for places that mostly do talking, like churches. But if you need to do any recording, or you're a group that does music but CAN afford a higher quality board, than this may not be the board for you.Other features that generally bugged me:-No EQ bypass: a lot of mixers have a button that chooses whether or not to apply EQ, as it isn't desirable in all scenarios, and even putting all of the nobs at exact middle is subjective and reliant on the fact that the EQ is calibrated perfectly.-Digital I/O is USB. At the time of this board's release, Firewire is faster than USB with data transfers, and because of this it has been fairly widely adopted in pro sound world. (To all of you who argue that USB 2.0 is faster than Firewire400, with real world testing Firewire400 outperforms USB 2.0 in spite of having a lower theoretical rate)Note:I did not try out the effects options for this board. That really is not my area of expertise, but sometime in the future I do plan on updating this review with information on that. This would be when I have access to a dedicated FX controller, or when I next try it using Virtual DJ with my computer.

4Very nice and heavy head
By Boulder Mike
Definitely one of my favorite heads. It does not have any additional thrills , however, and just gives a consistent rainfall shower. I would consider the 10 inch head next time just to have a better coverage. Quality product.

5Great Value in a Simple Mixer
By A. Seltzer
I have owned this mixer for a little over 6 months and could not be more pleased. The sound quality, inclusion of two high quality phantom power inputs, and configurability make this ideal for podcasting. This mixer has a small footprint considering the number of inputs it can handle and feels like a quality piece of gear. All controls have a firm feel. There is no analog level meter, which keeps the cost and size of the unit down. However, there is a 5 segment LED that approximates input levels and signals red on clipping. Essentially this is all that is really needed and works quite well. If you record into software, that will give more precise levels if needed. The cost of the unit is such that for most it leaves the budget available for a decent quality condenser mike which is just as essential, if not more so, for quality audio recording. While the larger Xenyx models do include a built-in USB interface for immediate connection to a computer, this mixer does not. However, you can pick up either a USB or Firewire interface separately and inexpensively. I use the Behringer FCA202 firewire interface which works great and is also priced for tight budgets. The signal path, described in the user guide with a diagram, is simple yet versatile. It is possible to interface to an external effects processor and also send a separate mix for control room or tape out purposes. Most critical, as Behringer promises, the inputs are very clean. This value oriented mixer offers everything needed for basic recording,e.g. podcasting, with quality and durability.

4Does what it says - mixes.
By Jason Birchler
Great little mixer! as usual you can't beat Behringer on price vs. features. My one complaint is that the effects loop is not well documented and have not been able to figure out the correct way to create one.

4Good mixer but could be better...
By Andrew
I purchased this in order to hook up my two wireless microphones to my setup and have control over each mic individually. The mixer is well made and has a quality feel. It does what I need it to do, but there is no on/off switch or button so you need to unplug it. There is also a very bright blue LED light on the top which is lit when it is plugged in that becomes very annoying. Minor things but enough to annoy you as to why they did not design better. Based on my research, the price for this mixer is very reasonable for the quality and I would purchase it again. Still working well as of right now after a having had it for a few months.

3the good and the bad...
By K. Gervais
I bought this purse for a trip to Vegas - wanted something small and light weight and this seemed to fit the bill. I have 2 other harveys bags and really like both of them too. so first things first, I LOVE the color and texture!! I wish it was just a tiny bit larger. it is such a tight squeeze to get anything in it. I would make the sides of the purse a bit wider not the length or the width... just an extra 1/2" would be really nice. Also the cross body shoulder strap is just a little too short so it doesn't sit quite right and its a little uncomfortable... One last thing -- the place where you attach the shoulder strap is on the back side of the purse, I feel it would be better balanced if the strap hooks were on the ends of the bag.

5Very Functional
By Healing Hearts
I purchased this purse because I broke my foot and was on crutches and needed something easy and accessible. This purse is the most durable and functional purse I've purchased. It has a strap to go over the shoulder or a wristlet to carry as a clutch. The quality of the hardware is unbelievable. The color is perfect (not too bright or too orange but a wonderful red). The bag is large enough to handle my checkbook, pen, wallet, and phone. The inside of the purse has a few credit card slots on either side. I usually have a larger purse to hold everything - now that I'm off crutches, I've continued to use the purse as it holds just enough for a quick trip to the store.

3Great design/manufacturing flaw
By Michael J. Horoda
This is a really nice mini mixer with effects. It is perfect for a solo performer and would accommodate two to three performers well with an outboard preamp. The sound is a little dark for my tastes, but the 'British EQ' is sonically pleasing and warm. I think this is a definite improvement over the earlier Behringer 802 mixer I really love. They are still using the same preamp chip, but have added the 2SV-888 transitor to give warmth.I have a big beef with the power-on LED. They have used a super bright LED and the dumb thing blinds you when you are adjusting the board in low light. They must have gotten a good deal on the LED's. It is a real annoyance and I am going to replace this LED at the first opportunity. I have also noticed the quality control on these units is not as good as earlier Behringer products. The molded plastic sides have some ridge imperfections when you are handling the mixer. Makes it feel like a more inferior product in your hands. Aside from this it is a good value and I will use it playing out. Enjoy!

5Behringer 1002 is super
By W. Lyerly
I am so happy with my new Behringer 1002Fx mixer. I am using to it to feed mp3 and voice into a guitar amp. Using the CD input select into mix works like a charm. A very clean sound and the reverb is beautiful. A lot of bang for your buck here. This is my first Behringer product but it won't be my last.

Talk about well made and HEAVY!!!I think most folks are used to the really cheap fixtures that most homes come with. When you start buying these better products it's hard to understand just how well made they can be.This spout is SOLID. Must weigh at least a few pounds. The diverter feels solid.I couldn't be happier with item. Now to replace everything in my bathrooms with similar products!

I had to replace a plastic Delta tub spout (couldn't believe the shower set came in plastic!) with something more durable, and this spout didn't disappoint. It is completely metal/brass with a nice chrome finish. I like how the diverter pushes down instead of the usual pulling up.

5Another great Weber product
By David J. Bishop
Recently purchased a Weber S-620. Another great Weber product. I tried a top of the line Sears stainless steel grill two years ago, but began having issues within one year. I won't make the same mistake again, and will just stay with Weber. You truly do get what you pay for. Highly recommended.

5I LOVE this Weber
By Chino
The Summit S-620 is their "cheapest" top of the line chassis. This grill does not include the smoker box and hidaway rotisserie that the S-650/670 have nor does it have the sear burner that the S-670 has. However, the add-on rotisserie is $[...] from Weber, the smoker box another $[...] or so. You really don't need a "sear burner". Just preheat the grill properly and it'll do the trick. For starters, this grill gets hot! I misread the temp gauge the 1st time I fired her up and got her up to almost 400 degrees C! That's almost 750 degrees F! Yipes. Glad I didn't melt her down on day 1. Flame control is excellent (low really means low) and the grill is able to do a good job of indirect grilling with just the two outside burners. No control issues grilling steaks, chops, chicken, fish, or vegetables.Added features like grill out lights (useful after dark) and the tank "fuel gauge" are helpful.Construction is sturdy. The cart itself is mostly stainless steel and porcelain enameled steel, the grill box appears to be mostly cast aluminium and porcelain enameled steel. Assembly took me 30 mins (solo job and almost tool-less).Only 2 complaints. The grease trap feels cheap. The edges on the stamped steel parts are sharp and unfinished. And, it is VERY expensive. [...]Overall, I paid what I paid for the Weber name (and their support) and a fantastically designed grill. I could not be happier!

5Great Product with a minor flaw
By Robert J. Paolini
I really like this grill. Overall its a winner. It was simple to put together. The grill cooks evenly and gives you six burners to have on or off when grilling. The only minor item that I am not thrilled with are the knobs. I wish they were a little more solid. They are made out of a light plastic and just doesn't feel solid enough for this grill. Again, this is a minor issue as the rest of the grill is great.

5Awsesome Alien!
By Valerie S. Carlone
This is one of the coolest aliens that mcfarlane has ever made. It has good quality, it has good detail, and it can stand on four legs or two, which I thought was really cool. His inner jaw pops out. This is a great pickup if you like the dog alien.

4Great detail, limited poseability
By D. Reed
The detail and paint-job of the McFarlane "Dog Alien" from Alien3 is pretty good. I dislike that on the head, the seam between the top and bottom halves is very obvious and not at all realistic to the movie. I do like that there is a button at the back of the head to pop out the "inner jaw", and the tail is very poseable. However, the reason I am giving this toy 4 stars instead of 5 is that there is no articulation at the elbows and knees, and so the poseability of this toy is quite limited. However, it looks great on my shelf with the other aliens, so in the end I am pretty satisfied.

5Alien 3 McFarlane Figure
By PRJ since1990
Definitely a must-have figure (one of the only affordable ones of its kind), the Dog Alien is very true to the film's signature Xeno. The only thing some people have an issue with is the fixed elbows and knees, which is limiting to some degree but overall, I don't count it as a negative. You can set this guy up in basically any old way you want otherwise and he looks great next to any other Alien toys and/or Predator figures.

5Impressive....period.
By HappytoGrill
After extensive research and despite less-than-exptected Consumer Reports ratings, I chose to purchase the 2007 Weber Summit S-450 grill. I own a 5-year-old Charbroil that is bowing out and losing heat/smoke when I cook so I wanted a multi-fuctional grill to replace it that would last longer. The Summit S-450 includes a beautiful smoker box with a dedicated burner and a Rotisserie Kit. More importantly, it is a Weber, which means great warranty and customer service and built to last. When I opened the item with my friends we all salivated at the heavy-duty construction of this grill. The impressive stainless steel was high-grade and the grill was very heavy. No wobbling. It was very easy to set up and took about one hour. Let me say that although I expected this grill to be better than my old, I never thought it would be so impressive in all aspects. Weber thinks about everything when they make a grill. From the heavy gauge stainless steel grates to the high-end burners this grill really catches your eye. Having researched the grills at all the local hardware and big box stores, I can honestly say this grill beat them all with just looks and materials alone. That was even before I attached the propane and lit the thing! When I did test the burners I was extremely impressed with the ignition system. I've never seen anything like it and all burners, including rotisserie and side lit on the first try. The grill got up to heat very quickly and the eveness of the heat was evident buy looks and using a hand test over the grates. While I only cooked a hamburger for my first meal, I was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful grill marks the grates left.I do a lot of slow-cooking and smoking and the thermometer, smoker box, and seal of the grill will certainly improve my grilling of carolina pulled pork and briskett. Further, the knobs/temperature controls seem to offer infinite heating options. I cannot wait to experiment and learn with this grill as I add items to my menu. While I just got this grill yesterday, I am more than hopeful of the quality and craftmanship and truly believe it will last triple the amount of my Charbroil. I'll have to add to this review as I continue to use this wonderful grill.Addendum:I have now had the grill for six plus weeks and have grilled everything from vegetables to pulled pork. The smoker and burners are unsurpassed by any gas grill I've used or come accross. It cooks evenly at all points with virtually no flare-ups or hot/cool spots. Not one complaint by this user after at least 35 uses.15 months later:What can I really add? This grill still works like day one with a little maintenance. Yes, the ignition system still works like the first test. My grill would fall into the heavy use category (5 days minimum in summer and 3-4 days in Ohio winter) and all parts are still solid and nowhere near need for replacement like my old grill would have been (sorry Charbroil).

5Great Choice!
By Kerry Miller
After much research and reading lots of reviews, we chose this Weber. It is more expensive than others in its category but the high reviews and our past experience with Weber and the warranty helped us make this our choice. We love it so far. We live on top of a hill and one of our concerns was the wind. Well the grill performs superbly! Even on a cold (40 degrees) and windy day, it heated up in less than 10 mintues.

5expensive but worth the money
By Robert Orleth
Our old $250 grill stopped producing much heat and trying to clean the burners some pieces that were just plain solid rust fell off - time for a new one. My wife did some research and pointed to this one, and initially I was positive no grill could be worth that amount of money. However, looking at the grill at a local store, and checking out the cheaper grills at home depot, lowes and sears, as well as reading a *lot* of reviews, we went with the Weber Summit S 450, and we love it. Stainless steel on the inside (especially the grates) means easy cleaning - no worries about putting a scratch in there. Heat distribution is very even, slightly hotter towards the back, but no discernible gradients otherwise (big difference to cheaper models), and that makes grilling sooo much easier and that in turn makes your grilled food usually better. The other thing that contributes to a noticable difference in the food quality is the smoker box - throw some smoke wood pellets in there, and whatever is on the grill comes out tasting and smelling better than on any charcoal grill I've tried - again, predictability and simmplicity is the key here, you can pick how much smoke you want to get in.If all you're grilling is sausages or well done hamburgers, you may not find this one worth it, but if you grill anything that's sensitive to the right amount of heat in the right amount of time, and do that often enough and appreciate good food, this grill is much better value than it looks if you just compare prices and BTUs.

5Great Clifford Costume!
By Angie
This is a great costume! Our 3 year old loves to dress up in it and Wag her tail (which will really wag if she wiggles!) It is very warm and well made which will be helpful for our North Dakota climate for Halloween as it could easily be snowing. Our daughter is a tall 3 year old and we ordered a size 4/6 which is a bit roomy, but I wouldn't go smaller. It is perfect so that she can wear it now and will also have room to grow. We have received quite a few compliments on this costume already as she would wear it everywhere if we let her. I am happy with this purchase.

5Great Costume!
By Emily Ann Stone
My 3-year old girl LOVES this new Clifford costume! It is very well made and will keep her warm while trick-or-treating. My kid is in between a size 3T and 4T, and the size Small fits her with a little room to grow. The velour is very soft, and the collar around the neck is velcro, and there is plenty of room for it to be very comfortable.

5I love it
By Charlie
I replaced a grill that had cast iron everything. It would take 20 minutes or longer to get the grill to 400 degrees. This new Weber takes only about 5 minutes to hit 500 degrees. I love the 4 burner front to back design. It is a design that gets me back to the days of indirect heat cooking I got from my Weber charcoal grill. I have cooked steak, burgers, chicken and a Wisconsin favorite brats. This is the first time I have a side burner on a grill. I've used it to heat a few things and appreciate it.I live in an area that has a constant breeze that was always a problem for other grills. The wind would get into the grill between the base and the cover and mess with the flame and cool the food. This grill has an inner cover that connects to the base and blocks the wind. This makes for very even temperature.I was told this grill is manufactured in China and I was a little nervious about the quality of it. As far as I can tell, it is very well made and all the stainless is very thick. I looked at a couple other stainless steel grills and there is a noticable difference. Even the lower line of Webers have thinner metal. The grill comes preassembled except for the two side tables. Two screws each and the grill was pretty much done. The grates and flavor bars had to be put into place. I was preheating in no time.

3Love the grill - hate the rain
By Owen Lloyd
I've been using the grill for the last couple weeks and I must say I absolutely love how it cooks. It does a fantastic job. There are many pluses about this grill and I read many positive reviews before getting it, but I'm focus my attention on what I feel is a fairly hefty design flaw with this model. When it rains, the water channels down the back of the top cover (the part that doesn't move) and wraps around under neither and drips into the stainless steal grease tray, which then funnells the water into the alumimun grease tin. The water also appears to be all over the bottom shelf area after a good rain. I'm not sure if this is because it's overflowing out of the aluminum tin, or whether it's coming in somewhere else. The result is, if the BBQ is out in the rain, you'll have a very wet interior. The next problem that occurs because of the moisture is the electric starters don't always function as expected. I've had to start my BBQ with a lighter a couple times now. However, once it heats up (which it doesn't very quickly) the starters dry out and then function normally again (this is what the online help for the BBQ states to would happen). I'm also starting to see rust forming on the interior rivets. My guess is they weren't designed to have that much water around them, but it's concerning as I was hoping this grill would have no problems lasting many years.I have called Weber support and told them about this issue - they said I need to keep a cover on it and are sending me out one. I have to say the people on the support line were very friendly. I just wish they had a solution to the real problem, other than covering your grill. If I'd just bought this thing to look pretty, I wouldn't care, but I use it everyday for at least one meal and I live in the Pacific Northwest were BBQing in rain is a common practice. Waiting for the grill to cool down before putting the cover on is a pain and not something I always remember each night.I've also looked at the Genesis series at Home Depot and noticed they have a lip on the back to help prevent the water from coming in. According to the guy at Home Depot this does help a fair bit and definitely more than the design on the Summit.

5One Terrific Grill
By Larry A. Hollar
The grill was pretty easy to set up. Since my back yard is open and exposed, I will chain this beauty down...but there is no easy way to do that, I'll have to drill through the stainless steel. Reading reviews of other models, I knew that it was going to run hot. But caution! The book of recipes that comes with the grill will make you burn everything up. It does warn that they are extra hot before they get broken in (dirty) but that doesn't say it all. I very nearly ruined 3 meals before I started watching the meat instead of following their instructions to leave the lid down as much as possible. Always adding olive oil to your meat will make things better. Having a grill that will heat to 500 degrees or more is great, it is easier to clean than my old one. You can bake a pizza in there. I did not follow the advice from a review on a similar model, I've gone ahead and purchased the Webber cover. While the stainless steel is easy to maintain, the rain and snow leaves too much dirt on it, so I'll cover it in winter.
