Amazing...

This shredder is simply amazing! Although it is only rated at a modest 7 sheets, which it will digest quite easily, it is still an impressive machine. I was particularly interested in it because of the MicroShred feature. Most standard cross-cut shredders cut pieces a little too large for my preference. This thing reduces paper to tiny particles - and I do mean tiny! They are about 1/6 the size of a typical cross-cut shredder! I've never seen anything quite like it - they look like small gravel in the basket. Putting 7 sheets of 20-lb paper thru it was no effort at all for this machine. It's also extremely quiet -- it hums rather than growls.The CD and credit card shredder is a separate, strip-cut slot which can also devour thick pieces of unopened junk mail without missing a beat. The CD shreds drop into a small tray which sits on top of the paper basket. If you need high sheet capacity, consider its big brother the MS-460Cs, which cuts 10 sheets but carries a much higher price tag. But for a typical home or small office, this machine has plenty of capacity.

Big security for a small price

If it shredded any finer I'd call it powder. I never expected such a high degree of security from a home shredder. Fellowes calls the MS-450Cs output "confetti"; I think it's more like sawdust! Like me, if you're sick of screening each page to tear the corner with the staple off before you feed it in, then this is the shredder for you. The MS-450Cs puts a smile on my face each time it quietly - very quietly - munches on small staples. A small price to pay for personal peace-of-mind.I need it to shred all those *&#@ rewrites of my novels.James Ide, The Nintoku Incident

Fragile parts.

It's called a Confetti Cut shredder but it's more like a micro cut. Really fine pieces, almost to a dust. My only objection is that some of the important parts are made of flimsy plastic. I had to send the first one back because of broken parts. Other than that this is an excellent shredder. I would recommend but be careful sliding the trash can back after cleaning.

Terribly disappointed

Was extemely disappointed with this comforter. I was so anxious waiting for it to arrive. I have bought cheaper ones that were better than this one. There is no way this is 700-750 fill power and I wonder about the thread count. Even after putting in the dryer to fluff it out, it was still flat as a pancake. I will be returning it after I find out how.

Warm Warm and not heavy

The comforter is really warm and full without the weight. I have did my research when buying a comforter and this is the best I found for the money. With the 600 thread count the feathers stay inside and not on my floor, and with the fill power it is really warm and toasty inside without the weight. I don't like heavy things on me while sleeping and I tend to get hot when sleeping and this comforter is really great. I am really happy with my purchase.

Low Light King

While rather pricey this lens justifies its cost. Making a telephoto lens that clocks in at 1.4 is no mean feat. At a 85mm focal length this was a perfect portrait lens in the glory days of 35mm. At a 127mm digital equivalence this lens still dose that job. Once you adjust to the focal length, and the head-and-shoulders cropping it offers, you will never go back to a "normal" lens again. It is a great lens for candids, especially in low light or night light.Back in the days of 1600 ASA film, this lens was my mainstay when shooting available light. It really opens up to allow every last bit of light. Focusing could not be easier because the lens was super-sharp and snapped in and out of focus with little drama. Distortion was non-existent.Wide open the depth of field is minimal, but with modern auto-focus electronics this is much less of an issue than back in the day. The minimal depth of field really brings out your subject while eliminating visual clutter.In the bright light of the day, the lens again performed with aplomb. Flare was minimal and images were tack sharp. Again, once you adjust to the images a medium telephoto lens provides, horizons really open up. It is a superb candid shooter, especially for quick moving subjects like children. The lens also allows you some distance from your subject. That allows for less posed, more natural images.Even in a more formal setting, like wedding photography photography, the lens is a stand out. It is after all a "portrait lens." Couple it with a small flash or perhaps a old-school "potato masher" flash rig and fire away. The crisp, brilliant images will not disappoint.The only real down-side to Carl Zeiss lenses is their cost. Planar T lenses always carry a premium. Thus, the lenses are best for Advanced Amateurs, or what is called the Pro-Sumer customer. More casual users, or people with limited means should look at products by Tonkina or Tamron. The "two T's " are a good bet, and a good buy, for the more casual shooter. But for people who demand the best, and are willing to pay the freight, there is no substitute for Carl Zeiss lenses. It is one of the reasons a person would choose the Sony Product over offerings by Nikon, Canon, and Olympus. For some it is the only reason to go with the Sony Offerings.

Best portrait lens ever!

The sharpness creamy bokeh are unmatched by any other alpha mount lens. The auto clutch is a fine addition, since this lens has some heft to it, so you'll find yourself balancing the camera by the lens with your left hand. When it is in AF, the focusing ring doesnt turn. Nice. The colors are reproduced as true as any glass on the market. My only issue is minor, I wish the lens hood had a filter window, similar to the 70200SSM.Very fast focusing even in low light, but to really get the most out of it, mount it on the A700. It does tend to lag a tad in low light when mounted on the KM 7D.You'll forget the hit to your pocketbook as soon as you print your first shot!

I am astonished by this lens, as well as its sibling the 135mm f/1.8 lens Sony SAL-135F18Z 135mm f/1.8 Carl Zeiss Sonnar T Telephoto Lens for Sony Alpha Digital SLR Camera. Each lens is razor sharp at its widest aperture. A discussion of this lens, as well as of the Minolta 85mm f1.4 lens, may be found at the Photozone site. Compared to the Minolta lens, this lens is sharper and exhibits less vignetting, although it does exhibit slightly more chromatic aberration but to no serious extent.

If you have a Lexmark printer I highly recommend these new cartridges. I like the idea they are going to reuse/refurbish my old cartridge. They pay for the shipping and it is priced lower than those in the not returnable program. You have to hunt a bit to find it. They are available in all four colors; black, yellow, cyan and blue. Go ahead and order, it is worth it.

Great all-purpose zoom lens

I recently purchased SONY A700K, which is a A700 plus SONY 18-70 zoom lens bundle. The bundled lens turned out to be a nightmare. So I purchased this SAL-1680Z. Do I like it? Let me tell you.If you really really care about sharpness, resolution, MTF, then get multiple prime lenses. No zoom lenses match any Minolta/Sony prime lenses in this category.But if you can compromise a little bit (just a little bit) and want some 5x zoom convenience, look no further. This lens gives you all. Yes it is not cheap for a digital-format (1.5x FOV) lens, but in addition you get the "Zeiss" color: deep and classy.Is it perfect? No, it shows some vignetting when wide open.Bottom line: If you have Sony Alpha 700 (or 100) and if you want a zoom lens which you can use on almost any situation, save some money and get this.

Sony SAL-1680Z Lens Review

I have been an amateur photographer for years, shooting with film cameras. When I purchased my old film camera, it came with an inexpensive "kit" lens that did not perform to my expectations. I ended up having to buy a new (and better) lens for it.I recently purchased a Sony Alpha A100 digital camera with the 18-70 mm DT "kit" lens.Although the camera itself performs admirably, the included lens was not as sharp and crisp as I wanted or expected.So, as before with the film cameras, I purchased a better lens for the Sony Alpha - the SAL-1680Z 16-80 mm Carl Zeiss Zoom Lens.The lens is obviously much better quality. It feels "tighter", and it's made in Japan rather than China. The lens is also heavier than typical "cheap" plastic lenses. Not "too heavy", but the kind of weight that says "quality".However, the big difference came when I TRIED the lens and zoomed way into the resulting digital images.This lens is razor sharp, with absolutely no chromatic abberation at any zoom length.The only optical "problem" with this lens is a VERY slight vignetting in the extreme corners of the image when the lens is at full wide angle (16 mm). The field of view of this lens is so wide that lens attachments such as a protective UV filter ring must be chosen carefully so that they do not intrude into the image.The zoom is smooth... the focus is super fast and scary precise.The lens has an internal clutch which disengages the focus ring in auto focus mode. Cheap kit lenses do not have this feature.This lens is amazingly good - it perfectly complements the Sony Alpha Digital SLR Camera.If you buy the Sony Alpha camera, you absolutely must get this Carl Zeiss lens or another lens of similar high quality, in order to take full advantage of what the camera can do.Edit to add: I recently purchased an A-700 camera body. Of course, this lens also works with the A-700... and the resulting pictures are even better!This lens rates 5 stars plus!

Excellent Zeiss Zoom Lens For Sony Alpha System

This is an exceptional zoom lens which owners of Konica Minolta Maxxum SLR cameras as well as Sony Alpha SLR cameras should strongly consider adding to their kits. I recently had the opportunity to use it at this year's Photo Plus East and was quite impressed with the extremely high color saturation and resolution of this lens, trying it with the brand new flagship Sony Alpha 700 SLR camera. This lens is one of the reasons why I might consider adding the Sony Alpha system to my current camera kits; the others are the Zeiss 85mm f1.4 Planar and 135mm f1.8 Sonnar lenses. Quality-wise, I think these lenses compare favorably with the late, lamented autofocus Contax N-mount Zeiss lenses (Like those lenses the new Sony Alpha Zeiss lenses are built in Japan under strict Zeiss quality control, using designs made by Zeiss at its Oberkochen, Germany headquarters, where some Zeiss lenses are still being made for the Zeiss Ikon ZM rangefinder camera system and the Hasselblad "V" series medium format cameras. I am emphasizing this point only because one Sony representative at the show claimed that Zeiss doesn't build its lenses anywhere.). Without question, this lens is more expensive than its equivalent Sony/Konica Minolta peers, but serious amateurs and professionals using either Sony Alpha or Konica Minolta Maxxum cameras will soon realize that it is well worth its price.

Quiet Operation At A Better Price

I have used APC UPS backups exclusively. I was surprised like many people when one of my powerful APC backups would not run my Dell Studio XPS 9000 computer. When I called Dell about the problem, they were surprised and couldn't really help. When I talked to APC support, they knew all about the problem. They said I needed a backup that would produce a real sine wave because of the requirements of the power supply that was included with the Dell computer.The APC person told me what APC unit would solve my issue. However, the unit was pretty expensive, and from reading the reviews, the unit was super noisy all of the time. I ended up ordering the CyberPower PP1100SW because it was cheaper. This unit actually works and is quiet. While the unit has a fan, the fan only turns on when there is a power loss. Under normal use, the unit makes no noise. If there is a quick brown out, my Dell keeps running and the unit stays quiet. If there is a power loss, after a few moments, only then does the fan turn on. This is all fine since the goal at that point is to run the machine long enough to get everything shut down properly.If you are worried about noise and price, this is the unit to get! APC needs to get their act together and make their units quiet and reduce the price.

Excellent product

I needed a pure sinewave UPS for my new speed-demon Dell Studio XPS 9000, which won't work with older non-sinewave UPS systems. Many of the new systems use a different power factor power supply and require the new style UPS. This one works great, and the price is excellent. I used to swear by APC UPS's, but have had less success in recent years. The APC replacement batteries are horribly expensive, whereas the CyberPower uses generic batteries that you can get at any battery store for less than half the price of an APC battery. Since most batteries need to be replaced every few years, it makes the CyberPower an easy thing to recommend. I now have 3 systems running on CyberPower units, and am impressed with the quality and price point.

Good unit and superb technical support

Very pleased with the unit and technical support. CyberPower is pleasure to deal with. Ordered the unit to have pure sineware power. The first unit arrived with the power plug bent too badly due to bad factory packaging. The Amazon.com shipped a replacement unit promtly and scheduled UPS pickup for the bad one. The second unit had difficulty with USB communication following wake up after sleep mode on Windows 7 64-bit. Only power down/up would help. I submitted the technical support request; it was promptly responded to. I called the technical support agent, who agent sent an updated version of software.

Great, Underappreciated Lens But Not for Casual Photographers

Sony 135mm/f2.8[T4/5] is one of the great but underappreciated lenses in the market. Part of that may be due to Sony's lack of marketing initiatives and a part of it the price tag. But, to a greater part, it may also be usability challenges as this is not a lens for the casual photographer (see below).Build Quality: Superb. This is a substantial piece of metal and glass, that comes nicely wrapped in its own soft, well padded leather bag, a lens hood with black non-reflective lining and covers for the front (72mm) and back. The focusing ring is smooth, as is the aperture control ring.Image Quality: Outstanding. While the STF (Smooth Transition Focus) is revered for its unmatched, silky smooth rendering of out of focus areas (bokeh), it does so while also being one of the sharpest lenses even wide open. The images tend to have a unique 3D feel.Usability: This is a manual focus only lens, hence not for people who can't do without auto-focus. In fact, there is no focus confirmation. For them, Sony's 135mm/f1.8 Zeiss would be the answer. It is also a better lens for low light performance. Outside of that realm, and if you're a willing participant in the system's focus-on-the-subject for its great rewards, like I have become, the STF lens has a lot to offer.Focusing with this lens has been easy for me, even without using any manual focus assist feature. And if your camera has an assist feature similar to my primary camera (Sony SLT-A55), which allows a 7x-14x zoom (Live View as well as Electronic View Finder), it is even better. My back up camera (Sony NEX-3) goes a step further, with its Focus Peaking feature (All NEX-series cameras, and SLT-65 and SLT-77 now have it).Unlike other lenses, this lens has two modes to control the aperture. Each mode affects a specific aperture diaphragm.Auto Mode: This mode allows control of a traditional diaphragm through the camera, as in "Aperture Priority" mode. For this mode to take effect, the aperture ring should be set to "A". The aperture size ranges from f/4.5 thru f/32.Manual Mode: This mode shifts the control to, an unconventional, step-less diaphragm with aperture size ranging from T4.5 thru T6.7. This is achieved by turning the aperture ring past the click (which identifies the Auto Mode selection).Personally, I leave the conventional aperture wide open, while varying the step-less diaphragm given that for most practical purposes specific to this lens, I would be using aperture around f/5.6.Another thing to note is that, although this lens is identified as 135mm/f2.8[T4.5], the f2.8 only relates to DOF, as the aperture is indeed wide open to f/2.8. However, due to couple of apodization elements used inside the lens, the transmissive setting "wide open" is f/4.5, hence the T4.5 denomination.

The ultimate "cream machine"

I had been reading about this lens for years, I just had to have it! If you have read the articles and seen the pictures posted all over the place, you either know you want this lens, or you don't. If you do (and you know who you are), it is everything you dreamed it was. There is simply no lens ever made that is better for pretty flower pictures and bright light still portraits.But let's be honest-- this is a difficult lens to use. It needs a lot of light. Anything short of bright sunlight might not do. It is manual focus only, and the nature of the lens disables the PD focus confirmation in manual mode (the green box that lights up).Here is where the innovations of Sony's digital approach come into play, and help overcome these difficulties quite well. Focus peaking works perfectly, and thus it becomes a much more usable lens. When you are controlling the aperture, you can see the background melt away as the shot is composed. Image stabilization works also, which is nice on what is effectively a 200mm lens.If you have an a77 the two make a great pair. Some of the more recent sample images have been from an a99, and it looks like that is great pairing as well. It has received high marks for use on a FF sensor, with minimal vingetting, softening, or distortion. On my a77, there is absolutely none I have noticed.If you know you want it, you do. If you just *think* you want it, you probably don't. Seriously, it is expensive, heavy, and can be a real pain to get the shot you want.In my opinion the unique qualities of this lens are well worth the extreme extra effort (and price). The results are beyond anything possible with other lenses, and probably even beyond what you can manipulate digitally.

Excellent prime lens, perfect circular and creamy bokeh, sharp, great image quality. All metal body and crystal glasses. It is a little heavy but you can feel the quality.Is a very specialized and unique lens, only manual focus but you can use the Peaking Level and Focus Magnifier functions to make focus easy; check your Alpha camera handbook.If you are a only "auto-focus" person this great lens is not for you. But if you have experience manual focusing like old 135 film SLR camera times you are going to love this lens and shoot amazing pictures; the knowledge curve are going to be short. This lens is perfect to portrait, nature and many other kind of pictures.It is only for Sony A-mount. You can not find it for any other camera mount.I bought it directly on a Sony Store.

well this isnt as big as you'd think. About the size of the fingernail on your pinky.the item is also very 3D, I thought it would be a smooth surface, but the image jumps out toward you off of the background. which is a nice surprise.I'm happy with this item and am sure it will be well recieved as a gift.

Full-Tilt Nuance

I have been shooting dual systems, which seems to have become the norm to some extent. I have had my eye on the Canon 135mm f2.0L for a while especially after buying and using the 200mm f2.8L II. My most frustrating focal range was the 24-70mm until I acquired the Sony/Zeiss variant. That got me hooked on the Zeiss lenses so I took the plunge and bought the 135mm f1.8 Sonnar T* for my A700. What an incredible lens!The more I use this lens the more impressed I am with its ability to make magic. I look at recent portraits with this lens and straight away I see "Zeiss Eyes." This lens produces images that are clear and crisp with excellent detail down to the eye lash yet has an abundant control of color and contrast.The concept is: full-tilt nuance. You get sharpness, color and amazing contrast control. Most lenses give you two of the three (color, contrast or sharpness) few give you all three and even fewer make you stop in tracks in post thinking there is nothing to do but print it! This is the only lens that makes me think - just print it!I like this lens and my only regret is now I want Sony & Zeiss to step up to some ZA wide angles! For what it is worth I highly recommend this lens.

The widest aperture 135mm lens available

I am astonished by this lens, as well as its sibling the Sony 85mm f1.4 lens Sony SAL-85F14Z 85mm f1.4 Carl Zeiss Planar T Coated Telephoto Lens for Sony Alpha Digital SLR Camera. An Incredible Lens

This lens focuses incredibly fast, delivers sharp shots and accurate color. For me it's a fast telephoto, as I'm using it on an Alpha 550, so the lens translates to 203mm, because the Alpha 550 is an APS-C DSLR. I can shoot sporting events at dusk and get superb shots. The f1.8 aperture, combined with the camera's image stabilization and shooting at ISO 6400 allows me to get sharp shots in situations I never could have imagined.The lens is heavy, a little over two pounds, but you know you've got a professional piece of equipment in your hands and it feels perfectly balanced. I've used this at concerts and couldn't have been more pleased with the results. It's a good lens to use at indoor events as well as it reached across a good sized room and gives you crisp images. If you can afford it and can deal with the weight, you won't be disappointed with this incredible lens.

Aeris 1st & 2nd stage - Atmos

Great rig, plenty of well placed ports on the 1st stage. The first stage is constructed very well and strong. Looks like it could take a ton of abuse. Second stage breaths smooth and easy - with easy on-the-fly flow adjustment. Surface free-flows are easily contained by rolling the knob. Small and light weight, but very well built. I've "tested" mine on enough dives to lose count in several countries and it's never let me down in any way. The metal trim on the regulator has never tarnished or oxidized like some others I've seen. It remains bright and shiny to this day. I did add an aftermarket mouthpiece at some point and it seemed to make it more comfortable than it was.

A great compromise

WE purchased this for our 3 1/2 year old daughter. She was torn between the Radio Flyer Spring Horse and the Furreal Butterscotch pony. This horse is a great combination of the best parts of each. It is soft and brushable, but she can still climb on and bounce. It sings and moves its mouth, so she can "feed" it all sorts of things. I was originally worried about durability and was quite happy to see that it easily supports my nine-year old as well. The two have even climbed on together without any worry.Although I had been a strong Radio-Flyer customer, with their increase in production in China, I think that Tek Nek has produced a better product and am happy to have purchased it.

Very surprised how well this extremely abused toy has lasted

We bought this horse last Christmas for our youngest grandson who was then 3. We put it together and didn't think it would last very long....were we WRONG?? The horse is a very much loved toy and as he has a brother 2 years older and a sister 3 years older it is in CONSTANT use daily!!! Both the boys are autistic and the abuse this horse has taken is nothing short of a miracle!!! He still talks etc. and he is jumped on and used as a spring board to fly over his head onto the couch or any other soft landing place they can find. I have even seen him standing on his head!! I wish every toy we bought held up HALF as well. It was worth many times what we paid for it.

Love the horse!

I purchased this horse for my daughter's 3rd birthday, and she loves it. My older daughter is almost 5, and she loves it as well. After reading other reviews, I'm guessing that the model has changed slightly, since the batteries are now easily located in a hidden pocket right along the horse's mane. We haven't had problems with the buttons in the ears making sounds, although I find that my girls don't care much about the sounds anyway. We've had this horse for about a month.The one thing I wanted to mention was a problem with the assembly instructions. When putting the horse together, be sure to place the red tube spring covers onto the bars before attaching the horse! The instructions don't tell us to put the covers on until AFTER the horse is attached, and then it is too late and everything has to be disassembled, which is a lot of effort. Hopefully this error in the instructions will be corrected soon.The horse is surprisingly light, and can easily be moved to different rooms.My kids also climb all over the horse, and stand on it's back (while holding on to the bars.) If your child is very young and you worry about them climbing without supervision, then you may want to wait a bit.Otherwise, a great horse! My kids play with this horse daily- much more than any other toy they've ever had. We also received it in CA from Amazon with free Super Saver Shipping in just three days!
