I like this product so far

I have a 23 year old Oldenburg who spent his younger years as a three day eventer. My farrier recommended B-L solution as an alternative to Bute because it is supposed to be easier on the liver. I used the product for the first time yesterday after a long trail ride and he shows no sign of lameness or stiffness today. I mixed 1 ounce in with his beet pulp and King's 20/20 and at first he wasn't too sure about the flavor but in no time gobbled it up. I rated this product a four not because I haven't seen results, but because I've used it only once so far so I can't really judge it yet.

Excellent natural pain reliever!

I have a horse that was diagnosed with juvenile bone spavin and this is a great pain reliever. Can be used more frequently unlike Bute which is for short term use and comes with a higher risk of side effects. Devil's Claw also has risk for stomach irritation in some horses. That is why I also feed ProActive Balance (a prebiotic and probiotic) to maintain a healthy gut. He has done beautifully on both products.

Works Great

I just ordered my second BF1500 to install in a pond for my mother. I built my 2000+ gallon pond a couple years ago and used this waterfall filter, and it's been working great. I empty the pond and clean everything once a year including the waterfall filter. People "Atlantic" say that you only need to clean out the waterfall filter once but I think I'm going to start cleaning it in the spring and mid summer to make sure your water stays perfectly clear. I don't know about the second one yet as it hasn't got here yet but the biggest difference from the 1250 to the 1500 is that it is just a tad bit bigger and comes with two filter pads rather than one. I also cut a good filter of Matala "Gray" and put under the pads it came with. It also came with two bags for you to put your Lava rock in on top of the pads. My water is crystal clear. I run a 5500gph pump on mine but will be running a 8000gph on my mothers, her waterfall will be higher so bigger pump is needed. My water fall is only about 4 feet up so this filter box takes about the whole 5500gph fine. I think it is rated for 4000, maybe 5000 so don't quote me on that.So would I recommend this, YES since I've just ordered my second.

First one cracked during the first winter, second one works well

I had one of these as an outside waterer for livestock but the interior of the tub cracked after the contents froze during a winter power outage. The tub would not hold water and I had to discard it within the first season of use. I have had similar problems with the smaller flat backed buckets made by the same manufacturer (though they did last into the second season) but the same firm makes wonderful heated pet bowls which I can heartily recommend.Editing this review in December 2012, I have upgraded my rating because a second 16 gallon heated tub from this manufacturer is entering its 3rd season and is still working well. I have just bought another one but found it much cheaper locally in a farm store than on Amazon.

Third year of use

I bought this bucket for my two Great Pyrenees, who drink water like horses. This year they will be sharing it with a llama and two emus. Sixteen gallons is a hefty amount and needs refilling only once every two days (I had the heated 3-gallon dog bowl, large, but it needed refilling twice every day for the two dogs).The bucket has been in constant use for almost 3 years, but I do unplug it in the summer, of course. We get down to temps of -25, so it has its work cut out for it (I believe it heats to 40 degrees)The llama tends to chew on the rim, but it seems to be holding up fine. The cord has wire wrapped around the entire length, so it doesn't get chewed up by the geese, ducks, or llama (all three of these types of animals have been hard on previous pond deicers, chewing through the cords in record time). I bought 3 deicers before buying this bucket, hoping I wouldn't have to spring the money for it as it's 3x more or so than a plain deicer (I bought it at my local feed store and it was more expensive than the one on Amazon right now).

I have used these buckets now for about 10 years. They keep the water slightly warm when the temperature is below freezing which encourages my horses to drink and hence reduces the risk of colic. No more chunks of ice cluttered around the drinking area to slip on and no floating devices for playful horses to toss out of the water bucket.

4.5 stars: great mat, but the cover isn't worth it

It just arrived tonight and I've already got an opinion on the cover - and I'd rather have my $90 back (I think the price was $160 w/o vs. $250 w/). (For sanitation, I will of course be using clean sheets for each client anyway.) I wasn't sure that I wanted it, but also I didn't want to need it and not be able to order the cover separately.As a licensed massage therapist, I have taken more than 32 hours of Thai massage training and this is exactly what I was looking for in a mat - I didn't want to make do with a futon or replica (60x80 "queen size" bed toppers). I got the 66 x 80 and I feel like it will definitely be enough space for both client and practitioner. It's very comfortable. So far I'm very happy.

Best mat for the money
