quality manifold at an unbeatable price
By Henry Henze
I have used this manifold for over a year about ten times and am very satisfied! I researched for many hours before I bought a manifold just for automotive 134a work. As best as i can tell the same exact product is sold under the mastercool brand. It has all the signs of a high quality gauge set. The USA manufactured hoses held pressure all winter indicating they are high quality barrier hoses and all the fittings didn't leak either. The crimps on the hoses were done with about an 8 segment die so they are nice and smooth. The valves work nice and smooth. the couplers are well machined and fully automatic so you don't have to hold back the collar while you are pressing the coupler on & it shuts off when you release it. (Note: the high side service ports are always a pain no matter what coupler you have just don't hook up while its running!) The gauges have a zeroing screw too! The odd thing about this set and the main reason I bought it is that it has standard 1/4" flare fittings ( the kind used on all ac/refrigeration equipment that is not huge industrial sized stuff or 134a automotive) on the manifold and hoses except for the yellow one which has an automatic sealing 1/2" acme fitting on the 45 degree end. This is the type of fitting on all 134a can tap or cylinder or recovery machine as mandated by the epa. This different fitting WAS PUT THERE INTENSIONALLY AND IS NOT A MISTAKE AS ONE OTHER REVIEWER BELIEVED! The couplers have 1/4" male ends that go on the standard hoses. The only minor down side is that the 3 dummy fitting on the manifold to hold lose hose ends are 1/4 flare so I put some 134a retrofit adapters on them to keep the lose hose ends on them when not in use without having to take off the quick connect couplers. Some hooks or wire or something else would work just as well since all the ends are self shut off.

Great Gauges
By Kenneth Southerland
I finally received these gauges and it was worth the wait. They are very reasonably priced for what you are getting. It comes with the quick connect couplers. I recommend this to anyone that is tired of being robbed at a garage for A.C. work. I saved more than a $1,000 dollars by repairing my A.C. and by the way, I had never done this before. It's not that difficult as they make you think. I also repaired things that they had let go, but had charged me for.Thank you,Kenneth

After changing fittings, It's works fine.
By steve2
I have been using an R12 manifold for 20 years and decided to pick up a new R134 manifold. After lots of reading reviews on them, I chose this set. There are better sets out there, but for a weekend mechanic, I chose a less expensive set. It arrived , I opened it, only one hose end (the yellow angled end) would hook up to the manifold. The manifold fittings are incorrect at 3/8. They should have been 1/4. So I took the 1/4 fittings off of my old R12 set and put them on this new set. Now it is fine, but I can't believe someone is not trying these at the factory. They should not have 3/8 fittings at the manifold installer position or better quality control. Just my thought. I would have been upset if I had to go purchase 3 brass fittings for the manifold.
