Versatile, powerful and productive
By Rich & Peggy
I've been a weekend woodworker for over 20 years. I recently purchased the Shop Fox 14" saw to add versatility to my shop. The Shop Fox is heavy and well built. The cast iron wheels and 1 HP motor have effortlessly resawn several feet of black walnut. I've also cut veneer sheets from pecan that you could actually see light through. I spent about 2 hours setting up the saw, using the instructions in the manual. The saw required only minimal adjustments and those have not drifted at all in the last 6 weeks of use. I have used 1/8", 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" blades so far, all with no tracking problems or other issues. Blade changes are straight-forward and adjusting the guides is simple, but the lower guides are hard to reach unless you get down under the table. It's still not too bad and the adjustments are logically laid out. A riser is available that provides an additional 6" re-saw capability. I can recommend this saw to anyone.

SHOP FOX W 1706
By WOOD ART
I have had this saw for three years and have used it weekly as a weekend warrior. It is a permanent fixture in the shop and has proved to be very reliable. It is marketed lower than grizzly but has exceeded my expectations as my friend bought grizzly at same time. I use as resaw and have tested the everything from oak to walnut and it performs flawlessly. Drift is so low that I kept rechecking my work when first bought.Plusesvery well built with solid wheelsPractically true out of the boxhas held up strong under humid conditionsextras such as riser and under storage is a huge benefit4" built in dust control is standard

Shop Fox 14" band saw
By William E. Herbert Jr.
I purchased this saw about 9 months ago. Upon arrival I found the saw to be well packaged and in good condition. An inspection verified that all parts were present and accounted for with no damage. Following the instructions in Shop Fox's manual I setup the saw. Note I also purchased the riser block and a Timber Wolf 3/4" resaw blade for this saw. Please note that the blade that comes with the saw is of only fair quality. Since owning the saw I have resawn several pieces of quarter sawn white oak, even up to 8-1/2" wide with very little drop in saw speed. Now I will admit that setup and a great saw blade go a long way to help this situation, but I have to say that so far I really like this saw.
