Good Portfolio Case - Just keep expectations modest
By Joe User
I purchased the largest Pissaro case Martin makes, the 23 x 31 x 3.5 version. I think the best way to describe the case is 'adequate'. It is better than a paper portfolio, but I feel the large case should have thicker sides to improve rigidity and protection of the contents. The case carries all of my media well, and the adjustable compartment divider is nice, but I would have preferred to have the ability to divide this into four compartments instead of two (which would require more rigid sides to work well). The price point had my expectations higher than they should have been. The shoulder strap connections are rather thin, and not a design I expect to last long with repeated use. I suggest using the hand grip only. If Martin were to have a single piece of nylon webbing go around the case with more robust hardware, then I would feel the shoulder strap attachments are reliable. It is very lightweight. Your contents can quickly weigh more than the bag, which has thin, flexible sides. The flex in the sides makes this case really only for carrying media. I would put any heavy supplies in another case.In summary, it's a good case and the right size for me. I would buy it again. I would just prefer to spend $45 or so next time.
