4Older model kit has good points but not state of the art
By Plankwing
The "how much fun" etc. ratings (that cannot be bypassed on this site) are for toys and THIS KIT IS NOT A TOY in the normal sense (meaning that it is not "durable" for being played with). It is an "assembly required" model kit (for static display when completed) that is generally good overall with some inaccuracies. "From the box" it is a reasonable representation of the Voodoo. It is not current state of the art for injection-molded plastic kits, the most obvious deficiency being finely raised panel lines where recent modeling art has recessed panel lines. Though details (cockpit, wheel wells, gear, etc.) are reasonably good, current art also provides more complete and (sometimes - but not always!) more accurate details. This kit can be substantially improved by removing the raised detail and scribing the panel lines as well as adding resin and photo-etched details. Many aftermarket decals are also available. In short, this kit is typical of the Monogram/Revell kits dating to the 70s and 80s. Good but not great kits, yet, with price vs. features in mind, among the best model kit values available. Generally and specifically, these kits are well worth the buy and build either "from the box" or as improved by the "Advanced Modelers Syndrome" builder.
