This knife is amazing - it holds an edge extremely well. It is a thick knife, the picture is a little deceptive - this knife is about an inch thick through the handle. This is a military knife - as such it is beefier and tougher than your regular pocket knives. Overall I love my XM-1 and wouldn't trade it for any other knife.
