I bought this compressor to replace the squealing one in my 1984 Mercedes 300D. It fits and it is a perfect replacement, but it does not have the same type of seals as the original had. My old unit sealed on the back with O-rings (standard A/C O-rings), but this one uses special sealing washers that were not included with the unit.Since this is a common GM R4 compressor, it is easy to find the seals (I got the Yellow and Green ones for my car), but now I have to wait until those get shipped to me.I changed it out myself since I have all the equipment, but mounting this thing is a pain and I don't know how you keep the oil from running back out of the compressor when you attach the hoses on the back. I used PAG 150 oil in mine (~3 oz.) and put about the same in the receiver dryer that I also replaced.
