Product Description
For select 2004-2006 Toyota factory radios with controls for an optional CD changer or satellite radio, this cable provides a direct audio input from any iPod with a dock connector, and it also charges the iPod while connected. By using the dock connector for audio output, the highest musical sound quality is achieved- much better than any FM transmitter or headphone adapter can provide. The iPod's click wheel controls are still used for song selection, play control, etc. Note: This part is NOT compatible with vehicles featuring factory equipped external CD changers, satellite radio turner, navigation, or video systems. Not compatible with 2006 Toyota 6-disc in-dash radios. Good value but could use a disclaimer re: charging function!
By D. Gray
This device is great for anyone who has a car that is just old enough NOT to have an "Aux" input. It installs quite easily and does exactly what you want it to do . . . play your iPod through your car's stereo system. The product description should contain a disclaimer to the effect that "not all iPod devices are compatible with the battery charging feature of this device." I found that out after the fact. I have an iPod Nano that is not compatible. You can get an adapter for 15 to 20 bucks that will take care of the issue OR you can buy a 5 dollar cigarette lighter adapter with USB out to charge the iPod. Also, the throughput (volume-wise) is not the best. I have to turn my radio wayyyyyyy up to hear anything, and if you want to really rock it . . . fahgettaboutit! It ain't happening. All in all it works, it's relatively inexpensive, and it installs easily.

If you have a Toyota Corolla...You should get this when it's available...
By G. Carpio
I have had this for about a year and a half and this is the best buy I have ever done for my car... I love listening to my iPod and when I came across this item I was skeptical...until I saw the connector and realized that would fit my factory radio on my 05 Corolla...I love this thing, It works with all iPods up the 1st Gen iPod Touch...any higher then you are going to need an adapter for the dock connector. The sound is excellent... unfortunately you cannot control the ipod using the factory radio but that doesn't bother me...a little bonus with this thing is it come with an aux input....I put in a mini jack in that was long enough to put in my glove compartment, just in case I have a passenger that has a mp3 or a shuffle, or even another ipod. This thing is awesome...

Works well
By Natalie Klein
I installed this on a 2005 Toyota Corolla with the factory stereo. It works very well to play from an iPod to the stereo system. I have had slight difficulties using it with an iPod Touch, however; I am not sure if this is due to the cord or something about the Touch. It seems to sometimes just pause itself even while in locked mode. But otherwise, a really good way to have iPod piped to your car stereo without the staticy fuzz of an FM transmitter... and you can do it yourself!
