The TSN-770 Series is part of the next generation of Kowa spotting scopes. This scope is compact, smaller and lighter than the TSN 883, very well made and optically superb. I use the 30X fixed eyepiece and the image quality is all you could hope for. It's an excellent spotting scope for birding (which I suspect is what most purchasers will use it for). The only minor nit pick is that the coarse focus knob is a bit stiff for my taste, though this is probably intentional. The fine focus is smooth, light and precise and what I use most of the time. Brightness and image quality are remarkable.My preference has always been for a fixed eyepiece in the 30X range, which gives you adequate magnification and a relatively wide field of view (wider than the zoom even when at 20X). In addition, my experience has been that fixed eyepieces are always superior optically to zooms, though zooms certainly do have some advantages. Regardless, with the 30X eyepiece this scope is remarkably good. I highly recommend it.
