This is a wonderful quartz crystal ball. It is huge-- I haven't seen a larger one available online. It is perfectly clear and very heavy. As I understand it this is lab grown quartz crystal, I don't know the exact process used but I think they take natural quartz crystal, crush it and perhaps heat it to let it fuse in the lab. All I know is IF one were able to find a natural quartz crystal ball, it would be so rare that a piece this huge would be this clear that it would cost thousands of dollars. I have seen nearly clear quartz crystal balls much smaller that were in the $20,000.00 range.I am happy to have this beautiful quartz crystal rather than man-made glass or "lead crystal" which cost almost the same. Even though this is lab grown, it retains all the special qualities of quartz. It comes with a very nice stand that rotates.The Seller of this item was top-notch. Tripactinc stayed in constant communication with me. I am grateful Kevin warned me to be very careful unpacking this because it weighs over 24 pounds, and you wouldn't want to drop it.There was a problem with the Shipper not leaving the package without a signature and not letting me know when they would be here so I missed the delivery the first go around. So the Seller, Kevin (Tripactinc) didn't even wait for FedEx to return the first item, he just shipped me another with no signature required. Tripactinc's price on this was very good and compeititive. It was a pleasure doing business with them. I am thrilled.If you have always wanted a large clear quartz crystal ball, I highly recommend this item and Seller.

I purchased this 8" crystal ball to serve as the apex for a pyramid I was building as using crystal is one of the ways of magnifying the amonts of energy the pyramid shape attracts. It works as advertised.

Pros: Absolutely beautiful and flawless. Packaging well designed and should be saved for later use. Will become the central focus of any room and a great conversation starter.Cons: HUGE and HEAVY. Think bowling ball. Should never be placed upon a rickety table or less than (very) sturdy shelf. A potential safety hazard to small children. Got to buy a better base soon. Fingerprint magnet. Needs a sign: You touch it you clean it!!!
