Until this set, I was always under the impression that Snap-On or the comparable Co's were the only "fine" wrenches in construction. A lot of Craftsmen stuff seems chunky and excessive. These GW's change that. This metric set will actually make mechanics jealous (if they don't have one). It is useful. It has reverse rotation NOT switched in the head, which means a far lower profile head, a fine-r built midsection and jaw, a decent reach, a flex head that locks, and a slight "anti-slip" technology. Oh, and a nice bag and LIFETIME warranty.. which I assume is legit. The only wrench improvement I can think of is impossible: a slightly more "XL" handle would be nice but given the warranty, it's simply too much torque on the components.. so the length is actually quite long considering. When I only have a legit complaint about the free bag's fastening system, things are going well.. but yeah, some velcro perhaps? A nice snapping flap? A folding flap to ensure they stay? Of course, wrench bags have never been "engineered" anyway. And it's fine. The price is probably 1/4 or less the Snappy.. if they even made this configuration. If they did, I'd still expect this to be 80% the quality. The logic for this style of wrench is easy: IF you need a wrench, it is because it's located in a restricted area. So when you finally get the wrench onto the bolt, do you want to take it off again? How about 30 times? Yeah, it's pretty obvious. The job I originally got it for took maybe 1/15 the time for the more isolated glowplugs.I haven't used them a great deal, but slop is minimal and again is suprising for the price. The ratcheting feels/sounds quality with a nice click that gives me confidence if the big "lifetime warranty" on the center of the bag isn't enough. I will still break nuts loose before ratcheting, just in case (the offchance) it saves Gearwrench on replacements because I'm excited to see what their R&D folks come up with next.
