It will debark a log in a hurry. But that's not all. You can use it to sculpt wood, or make (or at least rough-in) joints for a Swedish cope.The surface looks machine planed, though, even if you go slow. If that's the look you're after, this tool may not be for you. Or you might have to follow with a draw knife.You have to modify (put holes in) the bar, and switching over takes enough of an effort that you probably want to dedicate a saw for this tool.Need replacement blades? It takes standard Makita 3" 1/4 planer blades.

The wizard itself is a good product but I was deceived about shipping, and had to proceed on a job with the bark attached as it took weeks to get it. The bark will have to be removed later mostly by hand. I waited a week or so for it arrive and then was told it was on backorder and waited another 2 weeks for it to arrive.
