With three kids, this is our 5th baby monitor. This is the first one that is crystal clear. When they say there is no interference, they are not kidding. The quality of reception is simply fantastic.The monitor comes with some features we really don't need or use (things like the temp. in the baby's room, the ability to turn the built-in night light on or off, the ability to play a lullaby remotely, and the ability to talk to your baby remotely). They all work nicely, but the were not on our list of needed features. If you seek some of these, great.Now, some of the quirks. These are not performance issues, but things that you should know before you drop this much money on a monitor. First, every monitor I have seen before was a constant transmission of sound. You can sit and listen to your baby breathing and so forth. This monitor ceases transmission when the baby is not making any noise, and then resumes transmission as soon as there is any activity. The sensitivity of that cut-off is adjustable. Still, this does take some getting used to before you can relax about it, esp. in the middle of the night. Second, the button that is pressed to trigger the talk function is on the left side of the parent unit. We have pressed it more than once when just moving the monitor around. This is a very good way to wake your baby by accident. Once we realized how easy it was to hit this, we both changed our way of grabbing the monitor. Not a big deal at all, but worth noting before you have a loud conversation that your broadcast to your kid's room.Our monitor had a problem charging (a short in the switch or something), and Philips swapped it out with no questions asked. So, a good score on customer service.Lastly, we turned this on in a house with two other baby monitors, cordless phones operating on two different frequencies, and a wireless network in the house. No interference with anything.

I researched a lot of monitors before deciding on this one. All of the other reviews on other monitors complained of interference with cell phones/cordless/etc... so I wanted to give this one a try. IT IS WONDERFUL! No interference at all and the clarity is crystal clear. I can hear a pin drop in his room. I can adjust the sensitivity, volume, music, lights, whatever. It was truly worth the extra money!

We have bought all kinds of monitors, cheap and expensive. This is hands down the best. The reception is very clear and, as they advertise, there is absolutely no interference. It is worth the money.It is true that a battery charge does not last a long time, so you have to be dilligent about charging it.
