Solid wood, fabulous single scale xylophone...especially appreciate the built in mallet holder. It will be used for our future children as well.

The xylophone is a little smaller and thinner than I was expecting, and would have liked, but it is very sturdy. One of the reasons I purchased this one is because of the slot to place the stick. (I hate when parts of toys get lost). At 2 1/2, my daughter likes to bang on it, rather than play it, but it makes a pretty good sound either way. I only wish it had two octives rather than one, but that is typical for beginner xylphones. My daughter loves it. Good purchase. Nice Easter gift.
