The Easyboot(R) is the natural way to protect, treat, cushion and correct hooves and still allow the horse to go barefoot at all other times. The boot is made with durable urethane that fits snugly to the hoof and provides traction, but is lighter and longer lasting than a steel plate. When properly fitted, the Easyboot stays on as well as a traditional horseshoe. Easyboots are sold as single boots. How to measure for Easyboots: 1. After a fresh trim, measure the width of the hoof across the bottom at the widest point. 2. Measure the length of the hoof from the toe to the buttress line of the heel. Do not include the heel bulbs in your measurement. 3. Compare your measurements with the sizing chart. For an ideal fit, the length and width measurements should fall under the same size on the chart.

Our horses are barefoot but occasionally need extra protection. These boots are easy to install and stay in place. There did not seem to be much adjust needed by the horses. These boots stay in place and do not twist. Some other types of boots cause rubbing on the heel, but this design is low in the back and does not make contact to rub.

I was very excited about using boots but unfortunately these didn't work. I bought two for the front hooves. I went with this design because they are the oldest design, and so I thought they had endured the test of time. I also liked the low profile size and price.My horse threw one, the first time out, after less then a mile walk along a gravel road. I backtracked and found it fully closed and still in perfect condition.I gave them another test along a 200 m stretch dirt road with some mud and a stream crossing. I put them on, pulled up the heal strap and clamped the cable down as tight as possible. My horse walked down, through the mud and across the stream. All was well so we galloped back. When we came to the end of the road I looked down and to my surprise both were missing! We backtracked and found them.After thinking about it, I remember the first time I tried the boots I purposely went through a puddle just 50 m before loosing the boot. It appears that they slip off when wet. This makes them useless for the wet area where I live.Fit was not the problem. My horse is a perfect size 00 - right in the middle of the size range. This was the first product I ever had to return. It's too bad. I'm a "barefooter" and hoped to impress some "shoers" with this technology.

I have used this product before and it isn't any different now. However, I do find that as my horses hoof grows, his size is between a 2 and a 3. The 2 gets too tight and digs into his foot at the heel and the 3 wont stay on. Maybe they need to create a 2.5?
