Product Description

Lambswool Baby Crib Mattress Pad Machine Washable Wool Pad 28 Inch x 52 Inch made from lambs wool helps baby sleep. This c rib mattress pad features elastic bands that easily slip under the ends of the crib mattress and, as with all SnuggleWool products, is machine washable. Made in USA. Firm mattresses are hard on your babys body. With our Snuggle Wool(R) mattress pad, made of soft lambswool pile, babies are guaranteed a better nights rest. Snuggle Wool(R) mattress pads are designed to help your child stay warm in the winter and provide them with cool-air circulation in the summer. These mattress pads come in sizes to fit bassinet through crib mattresses. When its time for your child to upgrade, there are larger sizes available to fit your childs bed. Note: Snugglewool recommends using a fitted sheet over the pad ; the benefits of the wool remain unchanged and it gives the customer peace of mind. However, nurseries in Australia and New Zealand lie newborns directly on the wool pads, which is also perfectly safe. There are no hazardous chemicals used in treating the wool, and unlike actual lambskins that are much furrier and could pose a risk, Snugglewool pads have only a 1" pile. Snugglewool machine washable wool mattress pads are edge-stitched. The wool, from the Merino sheep in Australia and New Zealand, is sliver-knit to a polyester backing and processed to withstand gentle machine washing. Each pad looks and feels like a sheepskin clipped to a one inch length. Lambswool is a naturally disinfecting fiber so heat is not needed for disinfection. Lambswool resists the development of bacteria and dust mites. Made in the USA by Rittenhouse Industries. Note: Due to sanitary reasons, Snugglewool products are returnable only for exchange due to defects within 30 days after shipment. Remember Snugglewool maintains its "fluff" best by washing by itself in cool water with a mild detergent on the gentle cycle. Air dry. Add extra fluff on the air only dryer

5Absolutely the softest for your baby
By Beccaboney
I loved this for my child in his crib. It was incredibly soft and I knew he was getting the gentlest thing next to his body. My only advice is to use it after the drooling stage. Otherwise the baby drools, then the wool attaches to their face and they can get annoyed. I also loved fleece sheets to make it nice and cozy. This definitely needs to be washed on cold/gentle, and dried on NO HEAT or hung dry. I even resold this at a great price, I would highly recommend it.

2Not soft or natural feeling
By Sophie
I had to send this back. I wrote a review that seems to have been taken down for some reason. I will re-post my review and hope it stays up. I received an email from the seller after requesting a return, telling me that this is wool sliver knit to a polyester backing. I don't dispute that it is wool on a synthetic backing. The problem is with its lack of softness and unnatural smell. I personally wouldn't lay my baby on it, even with a sheet over it.

3Fits standard mattress size perfectly and baby likes it but it sheds
By mjsmjs
The size is perfect for a standard mattress size. With the elastic straps in the back, it fits quite snugly and you don't have to worry about it rolling up.The first nap my baby had in it, she seemed quite comfy (she had been waking up more easily prior to that, and preferred our more soft adult bed). The smell was a bit strong at first, but totally natural. It was nearly gone after two washes. Little bits of fur sometimes end up in my baby's hands (from her pinching it), but that will probably dissipate after a little bit more wear once it stops shedding.Update: A few weeks in and we still like this pad, but it's probably not the best thing to put in a crib when your baby is putting everything in their mouth. My baby will often pull clumps of fur out and then eat them! Not a fun surprise to find in her diaper, and I imagine that her digestive system isn't crazy about it either. We've now covered the pad with a cotton sheet, so it still makes her mattress much more snugly, but I'm not sure it has all the same benefits as having your baby directly on the wool.
