Innovative Kitchen-Storage Solutions

In the late-1970's, when the gourmet-chef-tools market in the U.S. was still in its infancy, J.K. Adams owner Malcolm Cooper, Sr. conceived of the first slanted knife block. His goal was to create a cutlery organizer that would hold knives at a low enough angle that they could be easily removed from the block when it was pushed back under a cabinet overhang. The J.K. Adams Kangaroo knife block was launched in 1980--the first-ever slanted knife block, and still the best.

Recognizing the many opportunities to improve kitchen storage, J.K. Adams introduced the revolving "carousel" spice rack in 1982 followed by countless other well-designed storage products in the years since, including the popular in-drawer knife tray in 1994, a space-saving alternative to the knife block that offers the same safety and blade protection.

In 2011, J.K. Adams takes cutlery storage to a new level once again with the new Universal knife block. For over 30 years, J.K. Adams has continued to lead and inspire the kitchen storage market with their innovative designs, superior hardwoods, and exemplary craftsmanship.

5Includes Ceiling Hooks and Extensions
By JmyA
When I opened the box, I was surprised to find that this rack comes with two ceiling hooks (I assumed it didn't and picked up a couple at Home Depot first- oops). They are basic eye screw type, 4" long with 1-7/8" long threaded region (must be screwed into wood, according to instructions), 1/4" diameter. Also surprising was that it also came with two 4" extension hooks. If you use all the included hooks, you would get 1-7/8" from the ceiling hooks, 4" from the extensions, and 2-3/8" from the rack hanging hooks, for a total of 8-1/4" between ceiling and top of the rack. Rack is 1.5" tall. Also included were eight pot hooks, two of which are to be used for hanging the rack from the ceiling. They sit loosely in the rack (the rack is hollow and channeled on the inside, so you feed the hooks inside the rack which weighs down on their bases), so theoretically the rack could slide side-to-side if hooks are mounted at less than 32" apart. The hooks for hanging pots also sit loosely in the rack (hooks weigh down on rack). So you can easily adjust the spacing between pots and pans (slide them side-to-side; not through the center though as there is a screw there), or add more hooks. The hooks have a square base, so they won't rotate unless you push them up/out, rotate, then sit them back into the rack.I really like the solid construction and design. Before, I was a bit concerned it would be easy to knock it off the ceiling hooks, but now that I've used it I see that as highly unlikely.

5Good quality pot rack
By Proud Mom of an Autie
The quality of this pot rack is very good and sturdy considering the price. I've seen other pot racks in this price range that were lightweight and had thin, cheap hooks. I bought 2 additional hooks and I'm able to hang all of my favorite pots and skillets at my fingertips, it's so convenient and frees up a lot of space in my kitchen cabinet.

5It's Exactly What it Looks Like
By P. Gould
I LOVE my pot rack. This is the second one I've purchased, after the first was lost in a move. Having pots hanging around ready to grab is super convenient. The wood is sturdy and the rack is easy to hang. The hooks are satisfyingly bulky.A few tips: I added an extra s-hook to lower the rack so that I can reach it easily. Also, there is plenty of extra space on the rack, so I ordered 2 extra hooks to hang up my wok and my colander. If you are looking for a pot rack that looks like this, you won't be disappointed.P.
