The Best Headphones
By A. Heifetz
I have owned a pair of Sennheiser 650, several Grados (all the way up to 325) as well as a few expensive studio monitors and I like these the best. The sound is similar to that of the old Koss PRO4AAA, but better. What I like about them is voicing and dynamics. The instruments sound what they really should sound like. The timbres are beautiful. All the details are there but they are natural and not overhyped. If you hear a guitar, for example, it is not like a string is plucked right next to your ear. If you hear drums, they have an impact that you can feel in your stomach. Also, these are very solidly made, and fold nicely in the included case. The downsides are: 1. They are not as comfortable as some others for extended listening sessions - but you get used to them. 2. They do require a longer break-in period.

A Pleasant Memory
By Robert G. Britton
Yes, it brings back the memory of a set of 'phones I had way back over a decade ago. Back in the late '80s I had a set of Pro 4AAs that just blew me away, I considered them to be the ultimate headphones. They went by the wayside, unfortunately, long story. But, just recently I got a pair of Pro 4AAATs. (FWIW, I'm listening to them right now! -- Jeff Beck, Blow by Blow to be specific, through an older Pioneer receiver -- WOW!) These new phones are just as mind blowing as those older phones, sound wise. Equivalent. But they are a bit lighter and somewhat more comfortable to wear.Caveat: These 'phones aren't the do-all, be-all 'phones that will be the very best for everybody. They are still kinda big, still on the heavy side (albeit lighter than its predecessors), and most of all they are high impedance phones. Yes, you can listen to them directly from a .MP3 device or an iPod, but they don't have enough "Ooomph" to make these 'phones 'sing'. You really need a significant amp to make these perform like they are intended.Feed them significant power, like they are intended to have, and you'll just be blown away. Honest.

Superb quality & sound
By CJ
I bought my last pair of Koss headphones in 1998 and they still are amazing but wanted to upgrade to these and wow what an upgrade these are, brilliant, crisp sound, perfect amount of bass... even listening to movies sounds exactly like you are in a theater, I absolutely love these headphones. These are also about 50 bucks less than on the Koss website so this was a fantastic deal.
