Great compact watercolor kit, ample space for mixing watercolors. Great brush #5 that comes with this kit. The size of this watercolor travel kit may fit virtually in any pocket or in a small purse, bag, etc. and the enamel box is great...strong and closes nicely. I was looking for something small, yet practical and useful. I believe this is the set for me or for anyone with a similar interest as mine. I love the fact that even though it is a small box, it has enough ample space for color mixing and the best part no need to set up in a large space or carry so many art supplies, you only need this set, water bottle and your sketchbook! :) Did I mention great for travel? I am extremely happy with this set! :)Side note: if you are concern about the price... another great option to consider is the Koi Watercolor Pocket Field sketch box (12 color half pan set), it is a great buy and it comes with a great waterbrush and sponge. I love this set too! I do plan to use both for different trips and purposes.

Recommended by no less than James Gurney (painter of Dinotopia series). Justly so. Pigment that screams quality the minute you touch it. Fits on a moleskine sketchbook page (handy that).The seller (finearts?) was very accomodating. as well.Unreservedly recommend.

I like the quality of Schmincke pan watercolors but I think I like this cute compact metal travel box as much as I like the watercolors. The best thing about this little travel box is that its big enough to mixture colors to paint a small picture and it is easy to wipe off the mixtured colors. There might be other watercolor brands with cute little compact travel boxes with a lower price you can purchase, but if you want Schmincke then this small metal traveling box is just right for YOU!
