5Maul Fans Must Have!
By PyroDark
12" Darth Maul, it actually looks like a little plastic ray park :)This Figure comes with 2 hands attached and 2 alternates. 2 are lightsaber gripping hands one for left and right, the alternate right is the two fingers up "force push" pose, the alternate left is an open hand with his probe droid control cuff, He also has his pair of electobinoculars. He is dressed in his full black tunic and the robe from the box, I glanced at his chest and sadly he's all black underneath, the tattoos don't continue past his face. The robe's hood is a little goofy poofy at first but tuck it behind his elastic shoulder strap and it will stay down.He comes with 3 saber hilts, one is off, one is single blade ignited, and of course the dual blade ignited. he even has a little place on his belt for the turned off one to clip but it doesn't hold all that well unless you pose him first and then clip it on. he is bendable enough to look cool but for a character as agile as maul I would have liked some ankle joints. He's held up by a stand [star wars logo circle of plastic, and a stick with a metal clip to hold him at his waist]. The box was even nice I almost didn't want to take him out he was so well displayed in there, I'll definitely keep it somewhere safe for if I ever need to put him away, not for a good while though, he looks awesome above my TV next to my star wars DVDs now I just need a Sidious to put behind him in the shadows. He has a few small issues but still totally a 5-star figure, I'm quite happy with my $50 purchase.

4Sideshow Darth Maul
By BigStick
Top quality figure from Sideshow. Definitely one to add to your collection. No real negatives, tho not for kids. Is meant to be posed and displayed. Captures the likeness and intensity of Ray Park as Maul perfectly.

4If you can't afford the Medicom one, this will do.
By Armando N. Roman
When the Sideshow Darth Maul figure came out, a lot of people were saying that it was Sideshow's best. While it certainly had a lot of accessories, especially if you got the exclusive version, I never felt that it matched the near-perfection that was their Kit Fisto figure. And not just in sculpt either, but in clothing too. Not to mention that there were some minor problems that hold the figure back. But if you can't afford the x3 as expensive Meidcom version, which surpasses this figure in nearly every way, the Sideshow figure's still a good catch.Maul comes with a lot of stuff. Two extra hands (one has the droid wrist controller on it), ignited lightsaber, unignited lightsaber, another lightsaber with only one side ignited, binoculars, and if you got the exclusive version: battle damaged unignited lightsaber and battle damaged ignited lightsaber. That's a lotta sabers. The lightsabers also make Maul's box a bit taller than the other figures'. The weapons all look good, but I still don't care for how they get smaller towards the tip. Maul's outfit looks like it should, but I'll get more into that in a minute. Also, despite him being on the Buck body, he's able to get some really good poses because of how little there is to the head, and the lack of restriction in the outfit. Of course, you should still upgrade to a different body if you want to get some really dynamic poses out of him, but for once, I can say that the Buck will do. The head sculpt is also well-done, and I like that they included the stud in his ear.So it sounds good so far, right? Here come the little things that keep it from being 5 stars, or anywhere near as good as the Medicom one. First, the red paint on his head looks faded. Compare it to screen shots from the movie and you'll notice a difference right away. Then there's the dull expression on his face. I hate to keep comparing, but Medicom got things right with that scowl theirs has. Sideshow's looks more disinterested than anything. His outfit, while it does look decent, isn't very well-made. The material on his tunic, pants and robe is very, very thin and feels like something Hasbro would've made. The shoulders are a bit too poofy and the robe is just an eye sore if you leave it on. His big leather belt is worse- the little studs on the sides come off easily, and I lost 2 of them right after taking Maul out of the box. If you look at pictures of other Sideshow Maul figures that people took, there's a good chance you'll see a stud missing from theirs too, whether they know it or not.At the price he goes for though, Maul is a good addition to your collection. If you have the money and get both this and the Medicom version, you can have the ultimate Darth Maul figure if you give the Medicom one the Sideshow lightsabers and pad him up a bit. Otherwise, Sideshow's isn't as good, but is still a heck of a lot better than their Asajj Ventress and many others.
